This classification standard adopts two groups of viscosity grade series with letter W and without letter W. The former is divided by the maximum low temperature viscosity, the highest boundary pumping temperature and the minimum kinematic viscosity at 100℃, and the latter is divided only by the kinematic viscosity at 100℃. A multi-viscosity internal combustion engine oil, its low temperature viscosity and boundary pumping temperature meet the needs of a W grade in the series, and the 100C kinematic viscosity is within the viscosity range specified by a non-W grade classification in the series. 4.1 In this standard, the viscosity grades are indicated by six low-temperature viscosity grades containing W (0W, 5W, 10W, 15W, 20W, 25W) and five 100℃ kinematic viscosity grades without W (20, 30, 40, 50, 60). 4.2 Viscosity grades are divided into single-grade oil and multi-grade oil. Any Newtonian oil can be marked as a single-grade oil. Some products with multiple viscosity grades prepared with polymer viscosity index improvers are non-Newtonian oils and should be marked with appropriate multi-viscosity grades, that is, the low-temperature viscosity grade containing W and the 100C kinematic viscosity grade, and the difference between the two viscosity grades is at least 15. For example, a multi-grade oil can be marked as 10W/30 or 20W/40, but not as 10W/20 or 20W/20. A product may meet multiple W grades at the same time, and the marked W grade or multi-viscosity grade only takes the lowest W grade. For example, if a multi-grade oil meets the 10W, 15W, 20W, 25W and 30 grades at the same time, the viscosity grade can only be marked as 10W/30.
