National Standard of the People's Republic of China Method of wide plate tension testfor butt welded joint 1 Subject content and scope of application GB/T 13450-—92 This standard specifies the dimensions, requirements, preparation and test methods of wide plate tension test specimens (referred to as test specimens) for butt welded joints of metallic materials. This standard is applicable to the determination of the tensile strength of wide plate tension test specimens for butt welded joints close to the actual structure. 2 Referenced standards GB 228 Metal tensile testing methods GB2649 Sampling method for mechanical property test of welded joints GB2651 Tensile test method for welded joints 3 Terminology 3.1 Specimen of wide plate tension for butt welded joint Specimen of wide plate tension for butt welded joint Plate tension test specimen for butt welded joint with a width to thickness ratio equal to or greater than 5. 3.2 Tensile strength of wide plate tension specimer The stress obtained by dividing the maximum load borne by the wide plate tension specimen before fracture by the original cross-sectional area of the tested part of the plate is expressed as (o). 4" Specimen 4.1 The appearance and dimensions of the specimen are shown in Figure 1. The specimen width and the thickness of the plate shall comply with the provisions of Table 1. When the plate thickness is less than 25mm, the total length of the one-way transition and clamping part can be determined according to the fixture of the testing machine. R=48. National Technical Supervision Bureau 1992-04-25 Approved Butt weld Figure 1 Specimen 1993-01-01 Verified >25~50 GB/T13450-92 Table 1 Specimen width Degree Specimen width b 58. or>250 Note: When the plate thickness is greater than 50mm and the specimen is thinned according to 4.2, the specimen width should be 55 instead of 5%. . 4.2 When the plate thickness is greater than 50mm and the testing machine capacity is insufficient, machining to thin the specimen thickness is allowed. 4.2.1 The specimen thinning method shall comply with the provisions of Figure 2. The specimen thickness (81) after thinning shall still be greater than or equal to 50mm. 2 Thinning from one side Figure 2 Specimen thickness thinning method (thinning amount is 2a) Thinning from both sides|| tt||4.2.2 The thickness reduction of the specimen (2a) shall be determined based on the maximum capacity allowed by the wide plate tensile testing machine and the estimated result of 1.1 times the tensile strength (α) measured in accordance with GB2651. 4.3 The specimen may retain the weld excess height or remove the excess height by machining. 4.4 The number of specimens shall be no less than two. However, when the test material is difficult to obtain, one specimen may be taken. 5 Specimen preparation 5.1 The specimen plate, welding material, welding process, groove shape and post-weld heat treatment shall be the same as the manufacturing conditions of the corresponding product or component, or According to the provisions of the contract. 5.2 The test specimens shall be cut from the welded test plate or structure according to the provisions of Figure 3. Determine according to the number of specimens Figure 3 Cutting of test specimens 5.3 When cutting the specimens, mechanical cutting or flame cutting can be used. When using the flame cutting method, sufficient margin should be left to ensure that the metal properties of the tested part are not affected. 5.4 The deflection of the test plate after welding, the misalignment of the plate and the straightening of the specimens shall comply with the provisions of GB2649. 187 GB/T 13450—92 5.5 The sharp edges of the specimen should be rounded, and the radius of the circle should not exceed 1mm. 6 Test equipment 6.1 When the test load of the specimen is not more than 850kN, a general universal material testing machine can be used. 6.2 Thick plate specimens can be tested using a dedicated wide plate tensile testing machine. The load sensor should be calibrated regularly. 7 Test piece 7.1 Test temperature The test should be carried out at room temperature (10~35℃). If the test temperature exceeds this range, it should be stated in the test record and report. 7.2 Test speed According to the characteristics of the wide plate tensile testing machine, before the specimen yields, the strain rate (e) should be controlled in the range of 4×10-5/s~~5×10-5/s: after the specimen yields, it should be controlled in the range of 10-*/s~10-5/s. 7.3 Specimen clamping method 7.3.1 Tests in accordance with the provisions of Article 6.1 shall be carried out in accordance with the clamping method specified in GB228. The clamping length is generally at least 3/4 of the clamping length of the chuck. The contact between the clamping surface of the chuck and the specimen shall be as symmetrical and uniform as possible. 7.3.2 When a thick plate specimen needs to be tested using a special wide plate tensile testing machine, the specimen shall be butt welded to a pair of special specimen chucks. The load-bearing capacity of the assembly weld must be much higher than the test weld. The welded assembled specimen is shown in Figure 4. Spherical chuck Assembly welding mirror Test weld Figure 4 Welded assembled specimen 7.3.3 The clamping device composed of the specimen chuck and the test machine jaws shall adopt spherical contact, allowing the specimen to be freely positioned in the tensile direction and axially force applied. 8 Calculation and processing of test results 8.1 The determination of tensile strength shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB228. 8.2 For specimens with weld excess height, the tensile strength of the specimens shall still be calculated in accordance with the provisions of Article 8.1. 8.3 If any of the following situations occurs during the test, the test results shall be invalid: a. The specimen breaks outside the parallel section; b. Equipment failure affects the test results. 8.4 After the test, the fracture position of the specimen (weld, fusion line, heat-affected zone, plate) and the welding defects on the fracture shall be noted in the test records and reports.
