According to the requirements of the State Planning Commission's [1989] No. 30 document, the "Industrial Equipment and Pipeline Insulation Engineering Quality Inspection and Evaluation Standard" jointly formulated by the Ministry of Chemical Industry and relevant departments has been reviewed by relevant departments. The "Industrial Equipment and Pipeline Insulation Engineering Quality Inspection and Evaluation Standard" GB50185-93 is now approved as a mandatory national standard and will be implemented from August 1, 1994.
This standard is managed by the Ministry of Chemical Industry, and the specific interpretation and other work is the responsibility of the Construction Technology Research Institute of the Ministry of Chemical Industry. The publication is organized by the Standard and Quota Research Institute of the Ministry of Construction.

1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This standard is formulated to unify the inspection and assessment methods for the quality of industrial equipment and pipeline insulation projects, strengthen enterprise technical management, and ensure project quality. 1.0.2 This standard applies to the inspection and assessment of the quality of external insulation projects for industrial equipment and pipelines with a medium temperature greater than or equal to -196°C and less than or equal to +850°C. 1.0.3 The main indicators and regulations of this standard are formulated in accordance with the "Construction and Acceptance Specifications for Industrial Equipment and Pipeline Insulation Projects" GBJ126-89 (hereinafter referred to as the "Construction Specifications"). 1.0.4 The quality inspection work specified in this standard should be carried out during the construction process; the quality assessment work should be carried out after the completion of the insulation sub-project. 1.0.5 This standard must be used in conjunction with the current national standard "Uniform Standard for Inspection and Assessment of Industrial Installation Project Quality".

2.0.3 Allowable Deviation Items
Inspection items that allow a small number of test points to exceed the tolerance within the proportion range specified in this standard during the inspection and still meet the safety and use functions of the project. 2.0.4 Repair Project

2.0.5 On-site Sampling Inspection
Sampling inspection of materials or semi-finished materials transported to the construction site and on the already constructed insulation structure.

Use human intuition and practical experience to judge whether the inspected object meets the inspection requirements of the standard.
2.0.7 Manual inspection
Inspection of the firmness of welding or bonding between the workpiece and the hook nail or pin manually. 2.0.8 Hammer inspection

3 Engineering Division,
Grade, Procedure and Organization of Quality Inspection and Evaluation
3.1 Engineering Division
3.1.1 For the division of sub-projects, equipment should be divided into units and sets according to the same working medium; pipelines should be divided according to the same working medium. 3.1.2 The insulation engineering of industrial equipment and pipelines in the same unit project can be divided into one or several sub-projects.
3.1.3 When the insulation engineering of industrial equipment and pipelines has independent construction conditions, one or several insulation sub-projects can also constitute a unit project. 3.2 Grades
3.2.1 The quality of sub-projects, sub-projects and unit projects in this standard is divided into two grades: "qualified" and "excellent".
3.2.2 The inspection items of sub-projects are divided into "guaranteed items", "basic items" and "allowable deviation items", and their quality grades shall comply with the following provisions: 3.2.2.1 Qualified
(1) Guaranteed items shall comply with the provisions of this standard. (2) Each spot check of basic items shall comply with the qualified provisions of this standard. (3) For each spot check of allowable deviation items, no less than 70% of the measured values shall be within the allowable deviation range specified in this standard. 3.2.2.2 Excellent
(1) Guaranteed items shall comply with the provisions of this standard. (2) Each spot check of basic items shall comply with the qualified provisions of this standard, no less than 60% of the spots check shall comply with the excellent provisions, and the number of excellent items shall account for 60% or more of the number of inspection items.
(3) For each spot check of allowable deviation items, no less than 90% of the measured values shall be within the allowable deviation range specified in this standard. 3.2.3 The quality grade of sub-projects shall meet the following requirements: 3.2.3.1 The quality of qualified sub-projects shall all be qualified. 3.2.3.2 The quality of excellent sub-projects shall all be qualified, of which no less than 60% of the sub-projects shall meet the requirements of excellent, and the main sub-projects shall be excellent. 3.2.4 The quality grade of unit projects shall meet the following requirements: 3.2.4.1 Qualified
(1) The quality grade of sub-projects shall all be qualified. (2) The quality assurance documents shall be basically complete. 3.2.4.2 Excellent
(1) The quality grade of sub-projects shall all be qualified, of which no less than 50% of the sub-projects shall meet the requirements of excellent, and the quality grade of the main sub-projects shall be excellent.
(2) The quality assurance documents shall be complete.
3.2.5 When the quality of a sub-project does not meet the requirements of this standard, it shall be reworked or repaired. After rework or repair, the sub-project may participate in the grade assessment again. 3.3 Procedure and organization
3.3.1 The inspection and evaluation procedures for the quality of industrial equipment and pipeline insulation projects shall be carried out in sequence according to the sub-projects, sub-sections and unit projects. 3.3.2 The quality of sub-projects shall be evaluated by the technical person in charge of the sub-section project on the basis of the team self-inspection, and verified by the full-time quality inspector. The quality inspection form of sub-projects shall comply with the provisions of Table A.1 to Table A.3 in Appendix A of this standard.
The quality evaluation form of sub-projects shall comply with the provisions of Table B in Appendix B of this standard. 3.3.3 The quality of sub-section projects shall be evaluated by the person in charge of the unit project and the relevant personnel shall be verified by the quality inspection department.

The quality evaluation form of sub-section projects shall comply with the provisions of Table C in Appendix C of this standard. 3.3.4 The quality of the unit project shall be assessed by the construction unit or the person in charge of the project and the relevant departments, and shall be verified by the construction unit or the project quality supervision department. The unit project quality assessment table shall comply with the provisions of Table D in Appendix D of this standard. The quality assurance data verification table shall comply with the provisions of Table E in Appendix E of this standard. 3.3.5 When the insulation project is constructed by several subcontractors, the general contractor shall be fully responsible for the quality; each subcontractor shall inspect and assess the quality level of the sub-projects and sub-projects it undertakes in accordance with this standard, and submit the assessment results and information to the general contractor. 4 Quality Inspection of Insulation Layer
4.1 General Provisions
4.1.1 This section applies to the quality inspection of various materials of the insulation layer, the thickness stratification of the insulation layer, and the joints of the insulation layer.
4.1.2 The quality inspection of the guarantee project shall comply with the following provisions: 4.1.2.1 The material and type of the fixings and supporting parts of the insulation structure must match the material of the equipment and pipelines, and their specifications shall meet the design requirements. Inspection method Check the material certificate of the material and verify the type and specification of the material. 4.1.2.2 The material, specification and performance of the insulation material and its products shall meet the design requirements or the provisions of the "Construction Specifications".
For the performance test of on-site sampling, the thermal conductivity, bulk density, safe use temperature, mechanical strength, moisture content and external dimensions of hard products shall be checked. The thermal conductivity, bulk density, safe use temperature, slag ball content and external dimensions of semi-hard and soft products shall be checked. The thermal conductivity, bulk density, safe use temperature, fiber diameter, slag ball content and moisture content of fibrous materials and granular materials shall be checked. Inspection method Check the material certificate or the performance test report of on-site sampling. 4.1.2.3 The material, specification and performance of the cold insulation material and its products shall meet the design requirements or the provisions of the "Construction Specifications".
For on-site sampling performance testing, inorganic material products should be checked for thermal conductivity, bulk density, mechanical strength, low temperature resistance, safe use temperature, moisture content, hydrophobicity and external dimensions. In addition to the items specified for inorganic material products, organic material products should also be tested for flame retardancy.
Test method Check the material certificate or on-site sampling performance test report. 4.1.2.4 Adhesives, wear-resistant agents, and sealants should meet design requirements.
