This standard is formulated to unify the format of scientific and technical periodicals (hereinafter referred to as periodicals), strengthen scientific management, promote academic exchanges, and facilitate editing and publishing.
This standard is equivalent to the international standard ISO8-1977 "Documentation Work-Format of Periodicals". 1 Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the format of scientific and technical periodicals. This standard applies to academic journals that mainly publish academic papers and technical journals, guidance journals, popular science journals and retrieval journals that mainly publish scientific and technological reports and other scientific and technological content. It can be used as a reference. 2 Reference standards

3 Journal title
3.1 The title of a scientific and technological journal includes the title, parallel title and supplement title. The title should be concise and accurate for easy reference; it should clearly reflect the specific academic and knowledge fields involved in the journal; it can also be named after the name of its sponsoring organization. 3.2 If the title cannot accurately reflect the specific content of the journal due to necessity, a supplement title should be added. However, it is generally best not to add a supplement title. 3.3 For international academic exchanges or other needs, journals can have synonymous parallel titles in foreign languages. 3.4 The title should be fixed as much as possible. The characters that identify the journal name should be prominently placed on the cover, table of contents page and copyright page for easy identification. The printing format of the journal name should remain stable. The journal name should not be confused with advertisements or other content. 3.5 If the journal adds the Chinese pinyin of the journal name according to the requirements of GB3259, it can be printed in the appropriate position of the journal, such as the table of contents page or copyright page or back cover.
3.6 If the journal name is abbreviated, it should be intuitive and not cause misunderstanding. The abbreviation of foreign parallel journal names should refer to the relevant international standards.
3.7 No matter where the journal name appears in the journal, it must be consistent. If limited by the location, the abbreviated journal name can be used. Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on April 13, 1992 and implemented on December 1, 1992
GB/T 317992
3.8 Journals should use the journal name registered by the journal publishing affairs management department and shall not use the same journal name of another journal that has been published and distributed.
4 Cover (including cover 2 and spine)
4.1 The cover of a journal shall indicate the following items: journal name, including possible parallel journal name and supplementary journal name; a.
Publishing year and month, volume number, issue number;
c. Responsible person (including sponsor, editor, or editor-in-chief); d. Publisher (if necessary);
e. Standard journal number (according to the provisions of GB9999); f. If this issue is the "end of volume" or has an index, it should be marked separately. 4.2 When the single volume and bound volume of a journal exceeds a certain thickness (such as 5mm), the journal name, volume number, issue number, start and end pages and publishing year and month shall be printed on the spine in accordance with the provisions of GB11668. 4.3 In addition to the provisions of 3.4 of this standard, the cover design of a journal should strive to be relatively stable in form. However, the color tone and pattern can be changed to meet the needs of aesthetics or advertising layout.
4.4 The numbers in the identification items on the cover should be in Arabic numerals as required. 4.5 The second cover can be used as a continuation of the identification items on the cover. 4.6 The cover and the second cover are not included in the continuous page numbers of the journal body. 5 Volumes and Issues
5.1 Journals are generally published in volumes and issues.
5.2 Journals usually publish one volume per year, but can also publish multiple volumes in one year or one volume for many years. It is also possible to have no volume and use the year instead of the volume. The volume number starts from 1 and is coded with Arabic numerals. 5.3 Each volume of the journal should have a title page as much as possible. The title page is necessary for the journal to be bound and placed at the beginning of the volume, and should include the following items: a. The title of the journal, including possible parallel titles, supplementary titles and Chinese pinyin of the title; b. Volume number and year of publication;
Responsible person (including the sponsor, editor, or editor-in-chief); d. Publisher and place of publication (if necessary); e. Standard serial number (according to GB9999). 5.4 The issues that make up a volume of a journal should be numbered in sequence. The first issue of each volume is numbered as Issue 1 (No.1). In the last issue of a volume, the words "End of Volume" should be indicated in an appropriate position, such as the cover, or the table of contents page, or the copyright identification page. 5.5 If the issue sequence of a journal is interrupted for some reason, the interrupted issue number and time should be marked in a prominent position in the next issue. When several issues are combined for publication, they should be numbered as only one issue number. For example, the 7th and 8th issues (No.7 and No.8) that were originally scheduled to be published in July and August respectively are combined for publication, and are numbered as Issue 7-8 (No.7-8).
5.6 A journal may publish supplements (see 12 Supplements and Special Issues). If there are more than one supplement, they should be numbered sequentially. The supplement serial number should not be confused with the original issue serial number of the journal.
5.7 Indexes or cumulative indexes compiled and published separately for each volume or volumes of a journal should be indicated on the cover of the journal issue to which the index is attached. 5.8 The size of the pages of each issue of the same journal should be the same. If necessary, it should start from the first issue of the new volume. 6 Layout
6.1 In each issue of a journal, efforts should be made to distinguish the main text, title, abstract, table of contents, footnotes, table captions and notes, references, etc. in different fonts and sizes and in the layout pattern, and to maintain a unified typographical style for each issue. If changes are necessary, it is best to start from the first issue of the new volume. When choosing the font size, typeface and layout method, the convenience of non-direct eye reading such as microfilming and automatic optical reading should be considered, and it should not be too small or too dense. GB/T3179-92
6.2 If conditions permit, journals can print abstract pages. The abstract page is divided into several abstract blocks. Each abstract block records the bibliographic items and abstracts of an article in that issue. The size of each block is usually suitable for being pasted on a general document card. The abstract page can be attached before or after the main text of each issue of the journal. It can be separated from the journal and not included in the page numbering of the main text. 6.3 The page numbers of the journal should use Arabic numerals to code the main text of each issue of the entire volume in sequence, or each issue can be numbered separately starting from page 1. If there are illustrations and foldouts in the main text, they should be numbered together as part of the main text according to the usual practice of publishing; however, if there are advertisements or other content that does not belong to the main text and can be removed as independent pages when the journal is bound into a volume, they should be numbered separately and not confused with the main text page numbers.
6.4 If the third and fourth covers are published continuously after the main text, the continuous page numbers of the journal shall be included; if they are blank pages or only contain advertisements and non-text content, the continuous page numbers of the journal text shall not be included.
6.5 The page number of the journal shall be placed in a fixed position on each page. 7 Table of Contents Page
7.1 Each issue of the journal shall have a table of contents page. The table of contents page generally does not include the continuous page numbers of the journal text. The title of the table of contents page shall indicate the journal name (including the parallel journal name, supplementary name, and Chinese pinyin journal name if there is any), volume number, issue number, and publication year and month. The table of contents shall be arranged below the word "Table of Contents". The arrangement of the table of contents shall comply with the provisions of GB/T13417. 7.2 The table of contents page of the journal shall generally be placed on the first page after the second cover, and shall occupy one page as much as possible. The table of contents can also be printed on the second cover, the third cover, the back cover, or the front cover, but the location of the table of contents page should be the same for each issue. If necessary, it should start from the first issue of the new volume. 7.3 The table of contents should list all the following contents of this issue: a. Complete titles of each article and subtitles if any; b. All names of authors (if there are more than 3 authors, only the first 3 can be listed, followed by "etc."); ℃. The starting page number or the starting and ending page number of each article. The arrangement order should generally be consistent with the order in which the articles are published, or they can be collected and arranged according to the special columns of the journal or the subject classification of the articles. 7.4 Journals distributed abroad can add foreign language (usually English) table of contents pages. 7.5 For articles published in installments, the words "to be continued", "continued from the previous", "continued from the first", or "continued from the end" shall be added after the title in the table of contents.
7.6 In the table of contents, articles with columns such as "Abstracts", "Correspondence", "News Report", "Academic Activities", "Society Meeting Activities", etc., as well as short articles used as fillers, should be arranged differently from other main articles. 8 Main body
8.1 The format of each paper or scientific and technological report in the main body of the journal should comply with the provisions of GB7713. 8.2 The main body should be marked with necessary items for quick identification in the header or other appropriate positions: a. Journal title (foreign language parallel titles can be abbreviated appropriately according to regulations); b. Volume number, issue number, year and month of publication.
8.3 List all the authors' names and their work units below the title of each article. As for short articles such as newsletters, short reviews, correspondence, reports, fillers, etc., the author's name can be signed at the end of the article instead. 8.4 The first page of each issue and the right page that opens should be odd-numbered. 8.5 Each article should avoid scattered page skipping. If necessary, "Continued on Page ×" should be noted at the interruption point, and "Continued from Page ×" should be noted before the continuation part. Generally, it should not be reversed. 8.6 For articles published in installments, a continuous number should be added after the title of each published part, such as "Continued from the previous" or "Continued from the first installment". Except for the last time, "To be continued" should be noted at the end of each published part. The last article did not indicate "Continued". 8.7 Each paper in a journal should generally be accompanied by an abstract. The writing of the abstract should refer to the provisions of GB6447. For journals that are publicly issued for external communication, a foreign language abstract can be attached.
GB/T3179-92
8.8 Below the abstract, more than 3 and less than 8 keywords (or descriptors) should be selected for publication. 8.9 The translation should indicate the name of the translator, the translation method (full translation, or partial translation, or abstract translation, or compilation), the name of the original author, and the source of the original text. If the translation is a paraphrase of another translation, the source of the intermediate translation and the source of the original article should be indicated. 9 Reference List
9.1 The references of the paper should be marked and recorded in accordance with the provisions of GB7714. 9.2 Based on the characteristics of marking and recording the references of journal papers, examples are listed in Appendix A "Examples of Marking and Recording References of Journal Papers" as a reference for this standard. 10 Copyright mark and back cover

Appendix A
Examples of reference annotation and citation for journal articles (references)
There are generally two types of reference lists published after journal articles: one is that the author of the article lists the literature directly cited in the article in the reference list and places it after the main text to reflect the true scientific basis and serious scientific attitude. , respect the scientific achievements of predecessors, it is to check and find the references to provide necessary and sufficient bibliographic items; the other is the author's recommendation for reference to the subject of the literature, sometimes placed in the appendix.
A1 Reference marking method
The marking method of citing references in the paper can be selected from the two current "sequential coding" and "author/publication year" marking systems.
A1.1 Sequential coding marking system
The sequential coding marking system is based on the order of appearance of the cited literature, and Arabic numerals are marked in square brackets in the upper right corner of the author or achievement description of the literature. Record them in sequence according to this serial number in the reference list. Example:
, indicating that it has dropped to an altitude of 2500m2,
Literature [ 2】Pointed out that the altitude has dropped to 2500mMacFarland (2 pointed out that the altitude has dropped to 2500m or
When citing multiple documents or multiple documents by the same author, just list all the serial numbers of each document in square brackets, and separate the serial numbers with ","; if there are consecutive serial numbers, they can be connected with "one" and the middle serial numbers can be omitted. Example:
Early research results 2.4.6-9 show that
or Brown (1.3.5-8) believes that...
A1.2, Author/publication year marking system
Author/publication year marking system is the Harvard system. When citing the results of predecessors in the paper, the year of publication of the document is marked in parentheses immediately after the surname of the cited author, which serves as the connection between the citation and the reference list. If only the content of the results is cited in the paper without citing the author, the author's surname and publication year are marked in parentheses at the end of the text.Separate with ",". Example:
Li Xun (1964) pointed out in his summary of the development of metallurgical science and technology in the past ten years since the founding of New China that when citing multiple documents published by the same author in the same year, use lowercase a, b, respectively, after the year of publication to distinguish. Example:
, from these information sources (Farnfield, 1974a) to the suggestion of adopting new terms (Farnfield, 1974b), ... When citing documents with more than two authors with the same surname but different names, add the initials of the first name after the surname, and sort them in alphabetical order of the first name and the year of publication.
Example:
indicates that the altitude has dropped to 2500m (MacFarland JM, MacFarland RC 1976), \ When citing documents with multiple authors, only the first author is marked, followed by \etαl." (as a symbol of \etc. regardless of the language). Example:
Previous work (Smith et al., 198i) believes that... or, Smith et al. (1981) believes that..
GB/T3179--92
Citing multiple documents, arrange them in order from the most recent to the most recent year of publication. Example:
Early researchers (Green, 1928; Smith, 1922; Tuck, 1899) have concluded that A2 References
The references and bibliographical lists after journal articles should include: author (responsible person), title (article) and publication item. A2.1 Authors
When recording individual authors, the surname should be recorded first and the given name second. For authors whose given names are in Western or Russian, the first letter of the surname is capitalized, and there is a space between the surname and the given name, without ","; the first letter of the abbreviation of the given name is capitalized, without a period. For authors whose names are in Chinese characters, use their full names without abbreviations. If there are no more than 3 authors, all of them should be recorded; if there are more than 4 authors, only 3 should be recorded, followed by "etαl.". Add "," between authors, and do not add "and", "und", "&" or other conjunctions between the last two authors. For authors whose names are collectively signed by an institution, group or team, the name of the organization is treated as the author's name. When there is no author or name, record "Anon". A2.2 Title (article)
In order to provide readers, editors and reviewers with the convenience of checking, searching and reviewing references; in order to propose literature worthy of reference for readers to understand the subject, it is necessary to record the title (article) of the literature in the reference list, especially in the bibliographical list. However, if it is only for checking and ensuring necessary and sufficient search information, it is not necessary to record the title (article) in the reference list. A2.3 Publication Items
For the items of publication items, please refer to the two systems of A3 recording methods. The journal titles of references should be abbreviated in accordance with ISO4-1984 "Documentation Work-Rules for the Abbreviation of Titles and Titles of Publications", but no abbreviation dots should be added when recording. When recording the version of the reference, the first edition does not need to be recorded, and all other versions should be recorded, and the edition number is indicated by Arabic numerals. When recording the page number, the page where the quoted part is located should generally be recorded, especially when citing books, monographs, conference proceedings, collections of papers and long documents, do not record the start and end in general.
A3 Two Systems of Reference Recording Methods
The journal reference recording method can follow the conventions of this journal and this discipline internationally, and choose one of the two description systems (i.e., "sequential coding system" and "author/publication year system"), but the reference recording should be standardized and not mixed. A3.1 Sequential Coding System
The order of references is listed in the order of the reference codes in the paper, not in alphabetical order of the author's name, regardless of the language. The serial number code in the reference list is not enclosed in brackets or "," . Example:
