Determination for water retention capacity of ion exchange resinsUDC 661.183.1bzxz.net
GB5757-86
This standard applies to the determination of water content of ion exchange resins that are continuously dried at 105~110℃ without chemical changes. Principle
After removing the external water of the ion exchange resin sample that has absorbed the equilibrium amount of water by centrifugation, a certain amount of sample is weighed, and the internal water is removed by drying. The water content of the resin is calculated from the reduction in mass. 2 Instruments and Equipment
2.1 Glass centrifugal filter tube: as shown below.
2.2 Electric centrifugal precipitator: 0~4000r/min (adjustable), 4 50ml centrifuge tubes. 2.3 Oven: Maximum temperature 200℃, temperature passive ±2℃. 2.4 Pan balance, sensitivity 0.1g, maximum weighing 100g. 2.5 Desiccator, Φ250mm, with silica gel desiccant inside. Weighing bottle: d50mm×30mm.
Stopwatch: division 0.02s.
Analytical balance, sensitivity 0.1mg.

3 Test steps
GB 5757-86
3.1 Sampling shall be carried out in accordance with GB 5475-85 "Sampling method for ion exchange resins". 38.2 The pretreatment of the sample shall be carried out in accordance with GB5476-85 "Pretreatment Method for Ion Exchange Resins". When the resin needs to be converted to a certain form, the corresponding electrolyte solution can be passed through the pretreated sample. 3.3 Put 5-15 ml of the pretreated resin sample into a centrifugal filter tube, put a certain sample or water into another symmetrical tube, and then weigh it on both sides of the rack balance, and adjust the mass of the two tubes to the same with a small amount of pure water with a conductivity (25°C) less than 2μS/cm. 8.4 Put the centrifugal filter tube into an electric centrifugal sedimentation machine, centrifuge it at 2000±200r/min for 5 minutes, and use a stopwatch to time it. 3.5 Take out the centrifugal filter tube, pour the sample into the weighing bottle, and cover it tightly. Note: When taking out the centrifugal filter tube, prevent the separated free water from re-entering the resin layer. 3.6 Weigh 0.9~1.3g of the above resin sample in two weighing bottles that have been constant weight, accurate to 1mg. 3.7 Place the weighing bottle with the lid open in an oven and bake at 105±3℃ for 2h. 3.8 In the oven, cover the weighing bottle tightly, take it out and place it in a desiccator, cool it to room temperature (about 20-30min), and weigh it on an analytical balance.
4 Calculation of results
The water content X (%) of the ion exchange resin is calculated as follows: X= m2-m3
m2 - m
The mass of the empty weighing bottle, g,
Where. m,
m2—the mass of the weighing bottle and the resin sample before drying, g, m3—the mass of the weighing bottle and the resin sample after drying, g. The difference between the two measured values shall not exceed 0.29%, and the arithmetic mean of the two measured values shall be taken as the measurement result. 5 Allowable difference
The allowable difference within the same laboratory is 0.29%, and the allowable difference between different laboratories is 1.09%.
