This standard specifies the relevant terms and definitions of supermarket chain and convenience store chain. This standard applies to the operation of supermarket chain and convenience store formats. 2 Definitions
This standard specifies the following terms and definitions. 2.1 Retailing format
Different business forms formed by retail enterprises to meet different consumer needs. 2.2 Chain operation chain operation
A business organization form in which a company operates a number of stores in the same industry or format, organized under a single trade name, unified management or franchise rights, and shares the benefits of scale. 2.3 Direct chain (formal chain) company-owned chain Chain stores are wholly owned or controlled by the chain company and are operated in a unified manner under the direct control of the headquarters. 2.4 Free chain (voluntary chain) voluntary chain A number of stores or companies voluntarily combine to operate with common purchases as a link without changing the ownership of their respective assets.
