This standard is based on GB/T1.1-2009 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Writing of Standards", GB/T20001.32015 "Standard Writing Rules Part 3: Classification Standards" and GB/T7027-2002 "Basic Principles and Methods for Information Classification and Coding", combined with the classification and code information of grain equipment in the grain industry, and gives a comprehensive code. This standard replaces LS/T1706-2004 "Grain Equipment Classification and Code". Compared with LS/T1706-2004 "Grain Equipment Classification and Code", the main technical content changes of this standard are as follows: - Added bulk grain truck unloading and bulk grain quantitative loading devices; - Added general machinery and equipment for grain and oil, double-layer drum primary cleaning screen, white rice selection machine and other equipment in rice milling machinery and equipment; - Modified the inspection and testing instruments and equipment, added some instruments and equipment such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analyzer; - Deleted some equipment that has been eliminated or banned from use. This standard was proposed by the State Administration of Grain.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Grain and Oil Standardization (SAC/TC270). The drafting units of this standard: Henan University of Technology, National Grain and Oil Information Center, Hubei Provincial Grain Bureau, Henan Provincial Grain Bureau. The main drafters of this standard are Zhen Tong, Li Guangyu, Ge Liang, Zhu Yuhua, Zhang Yuan, Fei Renping, Qiao Xinbing, Wang Yutian, Qiao Zhanmin, Chen Weidong, Wu Jianjun, Xu Degang, Xiao Le, Lv Zongwang, Bu Chongjun, and Dong Zuohan. The previous versions of the standards replaced by this standard are: LS/T1706—2004.

Coding method
4.1.1 This standard adopts hierarchical code, and the code table is divided into four levels, each level is named as major category, medium category, minor category, and detailed category. 4.1.2 This standard code is represented by eight Arabic numerals. Each level is represented by two digits, and each level adopts sequential code. 4.1.3 For the code whose classification ends at the name of a certain level in the middle, "0" is added to the designed total code length (eight bits) during information processing. "0" is not used in Table 1.
