International trade contract codes play an important role in international trade activities. This standard is based on the provisions of data element 1296 Contract Number in the "Trade Data Element Catalog Standard Data Element" (GB/T15191, equivalent to ISO7372): International trade contract codes are 17 alphanumeric codes of varying lengths. However, the specific structure of the code is not specified in the international standard, and standardized management cannot be carried out. For this reason, this standard combines the actual needs of standardized management of various foreign trade business management departments and import and export enterprises in my country, and further makes specific provisions on the structure of international trade contract codes. This standard is also one of the important standards of the National Golden Gate Project, and provides a prerequisite for information communication and data exchange between related industries in the future. This standard is proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. This standard is managed by the China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding. The international trade contract code is a 17-digit unequal length (i.e., the total length does not exceed 17 digits), alphanumeric code. For example, for a contract signed in 1996, the year code is 96. The 3rd and 4th digits of the code are the code of the trading country or region where the contract is signed, represented by the two-letter code in GB/T2659. For example, for a contract signed with the United States, the code for the country or region is US. The 5th and 6th digits of the code are the administrative division code of the region where the domestic import and export enterprise that signed the contract is located, represented by the first two digits of the digital code in GB/T2260. For example, the code for the Beijing area is 01. The 7th to 17th digits of the code are the custom codes of the import and export enterprises, which are alphanumeric and of variable length. That is, the total length of the custom codes of the import and export enterprises shall not exceed 11 digits.
