Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T1.12009. GB/T22373—2021
This standard replaces GB/T22373—2008 "Metadata for Standard Documents". Compared with GB/T22373—2021, the main technical changes are as follows:
The metadata required for platform construction and the metadata required for standard document entity management have been expanded: 8 new metadata items have been added in the revision of this standard: publishing unit code, foreword, introduction, volume and issue number, publication cycle, indexing basis, standard history, and participating units. In the normative appendix, new metadata for standard entity management is added, including: metadata for standard entity, whether the standard entity is translated, standard entity carrier form, standard entity function type, and whether the standard entity is bound. Please note that some contents of this document may involve patents, and the issuing agency of this document does not assume the responsibility for identifying these patents. This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Science and Technology Platform Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/IC486). The drafting units of this standard are: China Standardization Research Institute, National Science and Technology Investment Basic Conditions Platform Center, Guangzhou Standardization Research Institute, Shenzhen Standardization Technology Research Institute.
The main drafters of this standard are: Zhou Jie, Li Aixian, Zhu Bin, Cheng Nufan, Li Jing, Huang You, Xiao Yongshu, Pin Yong, Zhou Qiongqiong, Xu Donghui, Li Ku, and Liu Tianhan.
The previous versions of the standards replaced by this standard are: GB/T22373-2008.

Metadata for standard documents
GB/T22373—2021
This standard specifies the basic metadata for standard document data sets, and provides the definition and common representation methods of core metadata and common metadata for standard documents
This standard applies to the processing, sorting, database building, compilation, publication and query of various standard document data sets. Normative references

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1
Dataset
dataset
A collection of data that can be identified.
Date and time representation
Note: A dataset is physically a smaller group of data within a larger dataset. In terms of accuracy, a dataset can be as small as a single element or attribute within a larger dataset.
Dataset series
datasct series
A collection of datasets that conform to the same product specification. 3.3
Metadata
metadata
Data that defines and describes other data.
Metadata element
metadata element
The basic unit of metadata,

Note: Metadata elements are unique in metadata entities, 3.5
Metadata entity meladataentity
A group of metadata elements that describe the same characteristics of data. Note: It can contain one or more data entities. 3.6
Metadata subset
metadata section
A collection of metadata, consisting of related metadata entities and metadata indices. 3.7
Core metadata
coremetadata
In a specific field, metadata used to describe the most basic attributes of a data set (information resource): metadata entities and metadata elements that must be selected or conditionally required when formulating its metadata standards. 3.8
Common metadata
commonmetadata
Metadata with commonality in a specific field. Note 1: The common metadata package includes all the contents of the core metadata and is the starting point for the work of formulating metadata standards in a specific field. Note 2: The standard entity data describing the standard document entity can be found in Appendix VIII A.7 to VIII.11 3.9
Description
The process of analyzing, selecting and recording the content and formal characteristics of the document 3.10
Parent document
Parent document
The entity of the document collection that contains the document being recorded or the document collection that contains the document being recorded. 4 Description method of standard document metadata
4.1 Abstract representation
4.1.1 Overview
Abstract representation uses name, definition, English name, data type, value range and annotation to describe metadata. 4.1.2 Name
A name is a tag assigned to a metadata entity or metadata element. The name of a metadata entity begins with a capital letter. The name of a data entity should be written as multiple words without spaces. The pronunciation of each word should be written in human language (such as: XnnnYmmm). The name of a metadata entity should be unique in the data dictionary of this standard.
The name of a data entity should be unique in a data entity, but it is not unique in the data dictionary of this standard. The name of a metadata element can be unique in an application by combining the name of a data entity and the name of a metadata element (such as: metadata. metadata element name).
4.1.3 Definition
Describe the basic content of metadata.
-rrKaeerkAca-
4.1.4 English name
The English name of data is generally the full English name. 4.1.5 Data Types
GB/T22373—2021
The valid value range of metadata and the provisions for valid operations on the values ??in the value range, such as integer, real, Boolean, symbol, etc.
4.1.6 Value Range
For metadata elements, the bit field indicates its valid bits or uses free text. "Free text" means that there is no restriction on the content of the segment. 4.1.7 Notes
4.1.7.1 Constraints/Conditions
Constraints/conditions are attributes selected by metadata entities or metadata elements, including mandatory (M), optional () and conditional mandatory (). The constraint/condition codes are shown in Table 1.
Table 1 Constraint/Condition Codes
Code
Name
Required
Optional
Conditional Mandatory
Description
Indicates that the metadata entity or metadata element must be selected. Metadata entities can be selected or not selected according to actual applications. The defined optional metadata entities can use optional data elements to guide field data standard setters to fully describe their data. Optional metadata entities can have mandatory elements: these elements become mandatory only when the optional entity is selected. If If an optional metadata entity is not selected, the elements (including mandatory elements) contained in the entity do not select the condition for selecting the metadata entity element. When the condition is met, at least one metadata entity or metadata element is mandatory. "Conditional mandatory" is used for one of the following three possibilities: when selecting between two or more metadata entities or metadata elements, at least one metadata entity or metadata element is mandatory:
b) when another metadata entity or metadata element is already selected, the metadata entity or metadata element is mandatory; ) when another metadata entity or metadata element has selected a specific value, the two metadata entities are mandatory 4.1.7.21
Maximum number of occurrences
The maximum number of occurrences is the maximum number of instances that a metadata entity or metadata element can have. The number of instances is a fixed number of occurrences and is represented by a corresponding number, such as \1\"2"\3\\\, etc. Uncertain instances are repeated and are indicated by "N". 4.2 Dictionary representation
4.2.1 Overview
The data dictionary describes the characteristic attributes of metadata in a tabular form. The data dictionary defines metadata entities and metadata elements through the following 7 attributes.
4.2.2 Identifier
The identifier is a unique code used to represent a metadata element -rrKaeerkAca-
GB/T 22373—2021
4.2.3 Name
According to the requirements given in 4.1, 2.
4.2.4 Definition
Describe the basic content of metadata.
4.2.5 Constraints/conditions
According to 4.1, 7.1 The requirements given.
4.2.6 Maximum number of occurrences
The maximum number of occurrences is the maximum number of instances that a metadata entity or metadata element can have. The number of instances with a fixed number of occurrences is represented by the corresponding number, such as "1\" "2" "3\"2", etc. The number of instances with an uncertain and repeated occurrence is represented by "N". 4.2.7 Data types
The valid value range of metadata and the provisions that allow valid operations on values ??within the value range, such as integer, real, Boolean, character, date, etc.
4.2.8 Value range
For metadata elements, the value range indicates its valid values ??or uses free text. "Free text" indicates that there is no restriction on the content of the field. 5 Standard document metadata composition
Standard document metadata consists of standard document core metadata and standard document common metadata. Standard document core metadata is the basis of various standard document metadata standards.
6 Standard Document Core Metadata
6.1 Overview
The standard document core metadata element system includes 11 mandatory metadata and 3 conditional mandatory metadata elements (i.e. data elements), which can be used for standard document data set compilation, data exchange, website activities and the description of the most basic data set. The content of standard document core metadata is shown in Table 2. Table 2 Standard Document Core Metadata Content
