Place in an iodine volumetric flask pre-filled with 50.00mL of iodine standard titration solution [c(1/2Iz)=0.1mol/L], shake well, and leave for 5min. Add 2mL of hydrochloric acid solution (20%), and titrate with sodium thiosulfate standard titration solution [c(Na2S,O.)=0.1mol/L]. When near the end point, add 2mL of starch indicator solution (10g/L), and continue titrating until the blue color of the solution disappears. Perform a blank test at the same time. The content of sodium metabisulfite is calculated as follows: (Vi - V2): c X 0. 047 53 ×X100 Wherein: r mass percentage of sodium metabisulfite, %; Vi—volume of sodium thiosulfate standard titration solution consumed in blank test, mLV2--volume of sodium thiosulfate standard titration solution consumed by sample, mL; concentration of sodium thiosulfate standard titration solution, mol/L; 0. 047 53- mass of sodium metabisulfite equivalent to 1.00mL sodium thiosulfate standard titration solution [c(Na,S,0;)=1.000mol/L], expressed in grams; mass of sample, g. 4.2 Determination of impurities The sample must be weighed accurately to 0.01g. 4.2.1 Clarity test Weigh 10g of sample and dissolve it in 100mL of water.
