This standard specifies the technical conditions, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage and transportation of alkyd varnish. This standard applies to alkyd varnish prepared by adding appropriate amount of drying agent and organic solvent to alkyd resin modified with vegetable oil. The product composition of alkyd varnishes is determined by the manufacturer and is divided into the following categories according to their performance and use:Class I is medium and short oil alkyd resins as the main film-forming substances. Applicable to indoor general metal and wood surface finishing or coating finishing, and divided into superior, first-class and qualified products. Category I is long oil alkyd resin as the main film-forming material. Applicable to outdoor general metal and wood surface finishing or coating finishing. 5.5 Paint film performance tests are all based on dry paint film, and its thickness is 12m. Unless otherwise specified, the paint film is tested after drying for 72h under specified conditions.
6 Test method
6.1 Original paint color
According to Method A of GB/T1722. During arbitration, it is carried out according to Method B of GB/T1722, and the sample pool is 25.4mm during the test. The total value of Lovibond chromaticity (H) is calculated according to formula (1): Where: R——Lovibond chromaticity, red; Y Lovibond chromaticity, yellow;
L——Lovibond chromaticity, neutral color.
6.2 Transparency of original paint

Stir the sample evenly and put it into a colorless transparent glass test tube with a diameter of about 15mm, a length of about 150mm, and a wall thickness of about 1 to 1.5mm. The sample is put into a depth of about 100mm and placed in natural sunlight or artificial sunlight conditions in accordance with Article 3.3 of GB9761 to observe whether there is turbidity caused by water, dust, debris, liquid layer separation, etc. If there is no separation of floating objects, sediments and liquid phases, it can be evaluated as "transparent, without mechanical impurities".
6.3 Non-volatile matter
According to the provisions of GB6740.
6.4 Outflow time
According to the provisions of No. 6 cup in GB6753.4. 6.5 Skinning
Pour about 90mL of the sample into a wide-mouth bottle with a lid of about 120mL, cover the bottle lid immediately, and seal it with melted paraffin. After placing the bottle in a dark place under the environmental conditions specified in 3.1 or 3.2 of GB9278 for 24 hours, take out the bottle, open the bottle lid and visually inspect it. Inspection method: Tilt the bottle and touch the surface of the sample with a glass rod to check the fluidity of the surface layer. If the surface layer remains liquid, it can be evaluated as "no skinning".
6.6 Workability
The base material of the test plate is a glass plate (about 100mm×100mm) that meets the requirements of 6 in GB9271, and a glass plate (about 500mm×200mm) is used for arbitration.
Panel preparation method Prepare the paint film according to the brushing method in GB1727. The long side of the test plate should be approximately horizontal, and the short side should be placed vertically at an angle of approximately 85°. If there is no particular difficulty in the operation, it can be evaluated as "no obstacle to brushing". 6.7 Appearance of paint film
The appearance of the paint film is tested by using the test plate after the workability test in 6.6, and drying it at any time within 48 to 72 hours under the conditions specified in 3.1 of GB9278. If there are no obvious brush marks, sagging, wrinkling, uneven gloss, etc., it can be evaluated as "no abnormality". 6.8 Drying time
The base material of the test plate is a tinplate in accordance with GB9271, about 50mm×120mm×(0.2~0.3)mm. 6.8.1 Surface drying
Perform according to the provisions of GB6753.2.
6.8.2 Actual drying
Perform according to the provisions of Method A of GB1728.
6.9 Bending test
The test plate substrate is a tinplate in accordance with GB9271, about 50mm×120mm×(0.2~0.3)mm three pieces. Prepare the paint film by the brush coating method in GB1727, dry for 72h under the conditions specified in Article 3.1 of GB9278, and then put it in a 120±3℃ oven for 1h, take out the test plate and place it under the conditions specified in Article 3.1 of GB9278 for 1h, and perform according to the provisions of GB6742. 6.10 Back adhesion
Perform according to the provisions of GB1762.
6.11 Water resistance
The test plate substrate is ordinary steel plate in accordance with Chapter 3 of GB9271, about 70mmX150mm×(0.45~1)mm four pieces. Prepare the paint film by the brush coating method in GB1727, dry it for 72 hours under the environmental conditions specified in Article 3.1 of GB9278, and then use melted paraffin to wrap the back and periphery of the test plate. After the paraffin cools down, it is used as a test plate. 3

Immerse in the third-level water of GB6682. Take it out according to the specified time of technical requirements and put it in 3.After 2 hours of recovery under the conditions specified in Article 1, check the paint film according to the provisions of Article 5.4 of GB9274. If two or more of the three test panels do not show wrinkles, bubbles, cracks, or peeling on the paint film surface during the first and second observations, and the reduction in gloss, darkening, and discoloration are not significant during the second observation, it can be evaluated as "no abnormality".
6.12 Solvent oil resistance
The test panel substrate is a common steel plate that meets the requirements of Chapter 3 of GB9271, about 70mmX150mmX(0.45~1)mm. Prepare the paint film according to the brush coating method in GB1727 and dry it for 24 hours under the conditions specified in Article 3.1 of GB9278. Cover the back and periphery of the test panel with the original paint and leave it for another 48 hours as a test panel. After immersing in 120 solvent oil in GB1922 for 4 hours, take out the test plate, and place it upright for 2 hours under the conditions of GB9278 3.1. Check the paint film according to the provisions of GB9274 5.4. If there are no wrinkles, bubbles, cracks, or peeling on two or more of the three test plates, and compared with the other untested test plate, the gloss, color, hardness change and viscosity increase are not large, and the liquid coloring and turbidity are not large, it can be evaluated as "no abnormality". 6.13 Weather resistance
Prepare the paint film according to the provisions of GB1765, measure according to the provisions of GB1767, and evaluate according to the provisions of GB1766. 6.14 Phthalic anhydride content
6.14.1 Reagents
Benzene (GB690): Add anhydrous sodium sulfate and shake vigorously; a.
Anhydrous ethanol (GB678): Add calcium oxide and shake to dehydrate. Note that it should be distilled before use in the case of hygroscopicity. Potassium hydroxide (GB2306);
Ether (HG3-1002): Add anhydrous sodium sulfate and shake to dehydrate. Note that it should be distilled before use in the case of hygroscopicity. Calcium chloride (HG3208);
Calcium oxide (GB1262)
Anhydrous sodium sulfate (HG 3-123).
6.14.2 Preparation of 0.5mol/L potassium hydroxide ethanol solution Weigh about 35g potassium hydroxide, add a small amount of distilled water to dissolve, and add freshly dehydrated ethanol to a total volume of 1L. After adding a stopper and shaking, place it for 24 hours to prevent carbon dioxide, and then take the upper clear liquid. 6.14.3 Filter
Use a No. 3 glass sand core funnel (pore size 15~40um) for the filter. 6.14.4 Operation method
Accurately weigh about 7g of the sample (accurate to 0.002g), put it into a 300mL conical flask, add 10mL of benzene, and install a reflux condenser with calcium chloride balls to dissolve it. Then add 150mL of 0.5mol/L potassium hydroxide-ethanol solution, cover it, maintain it at about 55℃ for 18h or maintain it on a 60℃ water bath for 1h after installing the condenser as mentioned above, slowly heat and boil for 3h, let it stand for 1h, wash the inner wall of the conical flask with 50mL of ether, inject the precipitate into a glass filter of known mass, and wash the precipitate 5 times with 10mL of an equal volume mixture of ether and ethanol each time. During this operation, if the precipitate absorbs moisture in the air and may dissolve, be careful not to let air pass through the precipitate. The glass filter should be dried at about 60℃ for 20min in advance, then dried at 130-150℃ to constant weight, taken out and placed in a desiccator for cooling, weighed, and the amount of precipitate is calculated. However, if the precipitate is not white, it should be washed four times with 20mL of GB6682 grade 3 water at about 80℃ each time, and the washing liquid should be evaporated to nearly dryness, then dried at 105-110℃, and the residue should be weighed. 6.14.5 Calculation

7.1 All technical indicators listed in this standard are type inspection items. Under normal production conditions, except for water resistance and bending test, which are allowed to be inspected once a month; back adhesion and solvent oil resistance, which are allowed to be inspected once every three months; phthalic anhydride content, which is allowed to be inspected once every six months; weather resistance, when the national quality supervision agency proposes the requirement for type inspection, the rest are factory inspection items. 7.2 The product shall be inspected by the quality supervision and inspection department of the manufacturer in accordance with the provisions of this standard. The manufacturer shall ensure that all products leaving the factory meet the requirements of this standard. The product shall have a certificate of conformity and, if necessary, instructions for use. 7.3 The receiving department has the right to inspect the product quality in accordance with the provisions of this standard. If it is found that the product quality does not meet the requirements of this standard, the supplier and the buyer shall jointly resample and retest in accordance with the provisions of GB3186. If it still does not meet the requirements of this standard, the product is unqualified and the receiving department has the right to return the product.
7.4 The product shall be sampled in accordance with the provisions of GB3186. The sample shall be divided into two parts, one for sealed storage and future reference, and the other for inspection. 7.5 The supplier and the buyer shall check and verify the product packaging, quantity and marking. If the packaging is damaged or leaking, the quantity is inconsistent, or the marking does not meet the requirements, the relevant departments shall be notified in time for handling. 7.6 When there is a dispute between the supplier and the buyer over product quality, the product quality supervision and inspection agency shall conduct arbitration inspection. 8 Marking, packaging, purchase, storage and transportation
8.1 Marking
Carry out in accordance with the provisions of GB9750.
8.2 Packaging
The product should be packed in a clean, dry, sealed container without mechanical impurities, and the volume of the content in the container should be 90% to 95%. Determine the volume of the content in accordance with the provisions of GB6752, and then calculate the volume percentage V% of the content in the container according to formula (4): V(%)=V

8.3 Storage

The product should be stored in a cool, ventilated, dry warehouse, prevent direct sunlight, and be isolated from fire and away from heat sources. When the temperature is too high in summer, efforts should be made to reduce the temperature.
8.4 Transportation
During transportation, the product should be protected from direct rain, sunlight exposure, collision, and should comply with the relevant regulations of the transportation department. 8.5 Under the conditions specified in Articles 8.2 and 8.3, the effective storage period of the product is one year from the date of completion of production. After the storage period, it can be inspected according to the project indicators specified in this standard. If the results meet the technical requirements of this standard, it can still be used. 5

Construction reference

B1 The products specified in this standard should be suitable for surface finishing and matching with alkyd primers and alkyd enamels. The coating interval of each coating should meet the technical requirements of the corresponding alkyd paint.
B2 The products specified in this standard can be dried to form a film under natural environmental conditions, or under artificial conditions of 65°C. Before drying, they should be placed under natural environmental conditions for about 30 minutes to make the paint film level and improve the water resistance of the paint film. B3 The products specified in this standard should be easy to apply, and can be painted by brush or spray. Use alkyd paint thinner to adjust to a suitable construction viscosity. B4 When applying the products of this standard, the interval between each coat of varnish should be more than 24 hours. B5 The products specified in this standard should comply with relevant national regulations in terms of labor protection, safety, and hygiene during the coating process. Additional remarks:
