National Standard of the People's Republic of China Determination of Cover Thickness of Steel Cord Conveyor BeltsSteel cord conveyor belts-Cover thickness measurementGB/T 5753-94 Replaces GB5753-86 This standard is equivalent to the international standard ISO7590-1990 "Determination of Cover Thickness of Steel Cord Conveyor Belts". 1 Subject content and scope of application This standard specifies the method for determining the thickness of the cover layer of steel cord conveyor belts. This standard is applicable to the determination of the thickness of the cover layer of steel cord conveyor belts with or without reinforcement layers in the cover layer. 2 Principle of determination Before and after removing the upper and lower cover layers, the thickness of the sample is measured at a number of specified points, and then the thickness of the cover layer is calculated by subtraction. 3 Measuring instrument A dial thickness gauge or a dial indicator with a measuring accuracy of 0.1mm is used, the diameter of the flat circular measuring foot is 10mm, and the measuring foot applies a pressure of 22±5kPa to the sample. 4 Determination Procedure 4.1 Sample Specifications 4.1.1 Method A Cut a sample along the full width of the conveyor belt with the following dimensions: a. Width: about 50 mm; b. Length: equal to the full width of the conveyor belt. 4.1.2 Method B At each point described in 4.3.2, cut a sample along the full width of the conveyor belt with the following dimensions: Width: equal to the width including two steel ropes, as shown in Figure 1; a. Length: approximately equal to 150 mm. Measurement point oooooooooobol 000000 Figure 1 Specimen cut at the measurement point of the full thickness sampleApproved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on 1994-12-22Unit:mm Implementation on 1995-10-01 GB/T 5753—94 Measure in the order of 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5. During the measurement, the upper and lower covering layers shall be removed from the wire rope as thoroughly as possible with a knife (as shown in Figure 2) or other appropriate methods. Figure 2 Removal of the covering layer by force 4.2 Number of samples 4.2.1 Method A: one sample 4.2.2 Method B: three samples 4.3 Measuring points 4.3.1 Method A Measure the thickness of the conveyor belt at the following number of points on the sample: 3 points for conveyor belts with a width less than or equal to 1000 mm; a. b. 5 points for conveyor belts with a width greater than 1 000 mm. 4.3.2 Method B 3 points for all specifications of conveyor belts. 4.3.3 The measuring points of Method A and Method B should be equally spaced on the belt width. 4.4 Measuring the total thickness Measure the total thickness d of the samples with the measuring points determined in 4.3, as shown in Figure 3. 1>1000 Figure 3 Position of measuring points Instructions for use: 17 Method B of ISO7590-1990 stipulates that 5 points should be measured for conveyor belts with a width greater than 1000mm. 54 4.5 Measurement of upper cover thicknessbzxz.net 4.5.1 Method A GB/T5753-94 4.5.1.1 Remove the cover with a width of about 20mm at each measuring point of the sample with a knife or other appropriate method, as shown in Figure 4. The cover on the wire rope should be cleaned thoroughly, and then the thickness di of each point should be measured. The measurement should be carried out just above the wire rope, and it should be ensured that the thickness gauge is in contact with the surface of the wire rope or the surface of the wire rope layer. 50 Upper cover Wire rope Under cover Figure 4 Cross section of sample 4.5.1.2 The thickness of the upper cover at each measuring point, e1, is calculated according to formula (1): er d - d, Where: er — Thickness of the upper cover of the sample, mm, —Total thickness of the sample, mm, d, —Thickness of the sample after removing the upper cover, mm. 4.5.2 Method B (1) 4.5.2.1 Remove the upper cover of each sample with a knife or other appropriate method, as shown in Figure 2. The cover on the wire rope should be cleaned thoroughly, and then the thickness dt of each sample is measured separately by the same method as in 4.5.1.1. 4.5.2.2 The calculation formula for the thickness of the upper cover at each measuring point, e, is the same as formula (1). 4.6 Measurement of the thickness of the lower covering layer 4.6.1 Method A 4.6.1.1 Remove the lower covering layer at the measuring point of the sample according to the provisions of Article 4.5, and then measure the wire rope diameter d2. 4.6.1.24 The thickness of the lower covering layer e2 at each measuring point is calculated according to formula (2): ezdr-d Where: e2 thickness of the lower covering layer of the sample, mm, d, thickness of the sample after removing the upper covering layer, mm, d2-wire rope diameter, mm. 4.6.2 Method B 4.6.2.1 Remove the lower covering layer at the measuring point of the sample according to the provisions of Article 4.5, and then measure the wire rope diameter d. 4.6.2.2 The calculation formula for the thickness of the lower covering layer e2 at each measuring point is the same as formula (2). The measured values of the above-mentioned various thicknesses should be accurate to one significant figure after the decimal point. (2) Result calculation GB/T5753-94 Calculate the arithmetic mean of the thickness e and e2 of the test specimen measured at 3 or 5 points according to the provisions of Articles 4.5 and 4.6, and express the measurement results in mm. 6 Test report The test report should include the following: a) The manufacturer or brand and specification model of the steel cord conveyor belt; c) The test environment temperature and humidity; d) The test result; e) The tester.
