This standard specifies the method for sampling of paper raw materials for analysis. This standard applies to the sampling of wood raw materials and non-wood fiber raw materials for papermaking for analysis. 2 Tools used

3 Sample collection
3.1 Timber raw materials

Take 3-4 logs of the same origin and species, and indicate the species, age, origin, year and month of felling, and appearance grade of the logs. Use a peeling knife to peel off all the skin of the obtained logs. Use a hand saw to cut 2-3 pieces of wood blocks about 2-3cm thick from the top, waist, and bottom of each log. After leaving it for a few days, cut it into small thin pieces with an electrician's knife, mix it thoroughly, and take about 1000g of uniform sample wood chips according to the quartering method. After air drying, put it in a crusher and grind it into fine powder, sieve it, and cut the fine powder that can pass through the 40-mesh sieve but not the 60-mesh sieve. After cooling to room temperature, store in a 1000mL wide-mouth bottle with a frosted glass stopper for analysis.
3.2 Non-wood fiber raw materials
3.2.1 For grass raw materials without pith (such as rice straw, wheat straw, reed, etc.), take about 500g of raw materials that can represent the raw materials to be cooked, and record the grass species, origin, collection year and month, storage year and month, quality conditions (deterioration and cleanliness, etc.). If there are iron wires, iron filings and other hard objects mixed in, they should be removed with a magnet first, and then the roots and ears should be removed with a grass cutter (or scissors).
Chop all the raw materials without roots and ears. After air drying, place them in a grinder and grind them into fine powder. Sieve and intercept the fine powder that passes through the 40 mesh but not the 60 mesh sieve. After cooling to room temperature, remove the iron filings with a magnet and store them in a 1000mL wide-mouth bottle with a frosted glass stopper for analysis.
3.2.2 For grass materials with pith (such as cotton stalks, hemp, etc.), remove the root and ear of the sample skin and stalk (including pith peeling), and then grind them into fine powder that can pass through a 40-mesh sieve in a crusher.
