This standard specifies the terminology, type and basic parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage of power tongs for oil well repair.
This standard applies to power tongs used to tighten or unscrew the threads of pumping rods, oil pipes and small drill pipes or similar rods and pipes when repairing wells in oil fields.

4.1 Basic type of power tongs

5,4 Gears are designed and manufactured according to GB1356 and GB1357, and short tooth gears are recommended. Gear precision is manufactured according to JB179, with a precision of 7 to 8 levels. It is recommended that the closed gear pair of the open pliers head adopt a larger side clearance. 5.5 The planetary transmission shall be manufactured and inspected in accordance with the requirements of JB1799. 5.6 The tooth tip width of the tooth plate shall not be greater than 0.15mm. 5.7 When the power tongs clamp the oil pipe and rotate in the air, the axial deviation between the oil pipe and the power tongs head shall not be greater than 1.4mm. 6.8 Under the action of continuous torsion, the various specifications of pipes shall not slip when biting. Under the action of the sensitive torque, the bite mark width shall not be greater than 0.40; under the action of the maximum torque, the bite mark width shall not be greater than 0.80mm. 5.9 The power tongs should run smoothly without obstruction. 5.10 The suspension system makes the power tongs move downward or upward by not less than 50mm. 5.11 The operating system should be flexible, accurate and reliable, and the accuracy rate of the operating system of the open-end tongs to the gap shall not be less than 96%. 5.12 Under normal use conditions (before the overhaul of the power tongs), the number of times the thread is tightened or unscrewed shall not be less than 80,000 times. The service life of the tooth plate is measured by the number of times of tightening or unscrewing the thread, not less than 1000 times, and the brake disc and thrust ring are not less than 150×10\ times. 5.13 All supporting liquid, gas and electrical components must have a certificate of conformity. 5.14 The liquid and gas system should be pressure tested, and the test pressure shall be in accordance with GB1048. Keep under the test pressure for 3 minutes, and there shall be no drowning or damage to the system.
5.15 The main parts must be printed.
5.16 The power tongs are equipped with a torque indicator or a tension gauge when leaving the factory. Before use, calibrate the tightening and screwing torque or control the tightening and unscrewing torque.
6 Test method
6.1 No-load test

The whole machine can be tested without load only after all parts are assembled and qualified. First, turn it by hand, in the forward and reverse directions, high and low gears, respectively, for two times. After there is no blockage, turn it in the forward and reverse directions, high and low gears, respectively, for 0.5 hours. 6.2 Cut-off load test
The load test should simulate the use situation on the test bench, tighten or unscrew the oil pipe thread. The test load should gradually increase the torque from low to high, and increase by 10%~20% each time. The number of times and load should comply with the provisions of Table 2. Table 2

Select three points A, B, and C on the pipe diameter at the closest point above the center line of the clamp teeth, and measure with a micrometer. The bracket of the meter is fixed on three positions of the upper clamp shell (as shown in the attached figure). Each position measures a set of data in the forward and reverse rotation direction of the oil pipe: a total of six groups are measured at three positions, and the arithmetic average is taken as the test result.
6.4 Noise test coaxiality measurement
Use a Class A sound level meter to measure four points at 0 and 8 meters away from the working position at the same level of the power clamp working position, and take the average value as the test result.

In addition to the inspection according to 6.1, B.2, the following inspections shall be carried out and the inspection results shall be included in the power tongs product certificate. The bite mark and bite mark width of the clamped oil pipe slip test shall comply with the provisions of Article 5.6 1a.
