This standard specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage of electronic voltage regulators for alternators used in agricultural tractors and internal combustion engines. This standard applies to regulators for alternators on agricultural tractors, agricultural transport vehicles and stationary internal combustion engines. Regulators for alternators for other purposes can be used as a reference. The regulator works in conjunction with the alternator and battery to keep the generator output voltage within the specified range. Note: The and in the table are rated current and rated speed of AC generator. The regulator should be able to withstand 100 times of full load dump test of AC generator. After the test, the performance of the regulator should comply with the provisions of Article 3.10. 3.11

4.7 Load dump test Run for 10s at the rated speed and rated current of the equipped AC generator, then immediately dump the load (including the battery) and switch to no-load operation for 15s. This is one load dump, and it is carried out 100 times in total. 4.8 The output pole saturation voltage drop test circuit is shown in Figure 2. The input variable voltage U is equal to 13V (referring to 14 volts) or 26V (referring to 28 volts). 4.9 The freewheeling diode voltage drop test circuit is shown in Figure 3. The resistor R is adjusted so that the external DC current reaches the specified value of Table 4 of Article 3.13, and then the voltage drop U of the regulator freewheeling diode is measured.
