3 Product classification
According to the diameter and form of the bell cover, it can be divided into:
3.1 Large bicycle bell: The diameter of the bell cover is greater than 60mm. See Figure 1 for an example.
3.2 Small bicycle bell: The diameter of the bell cover is less than 60mm. See Figure 2 for an example.
3.3 Rotary bell: A bicycle bell whose bell cover rotates when it is pulled. See Figure 3 for an example.

4 Technical requirements
QB/T1723-93
4.1 Appearance
The chrome plating layer of the bell cover should be bright in color, and the exposed part should not have burnt black, exposed bottom, exposed yellow, bubbling, peeling, obvious burrs, spots, pinholes and other defects.
4.2 Surface roughness of chrome plating layer
The surface roughness of the chrome plating layer of the bell cover should not be greater than 0.40μm (Ra series). 4.3 Thickness of chrome plating layer
The thickness of the chrome plating layer of the bell cover shall not be less than 0.25μm. 4.4 Anti-corrosion performance of chrome plating layer
After the 24h neutral salt spray test, the corrosion resistance of the chrome-plated layer shall comply with the provisions of QB/T1217, Section 5.4.1, for Class I parts.
4.5 Sound pressure level
When the bell is continuously pulled, the sound pressure level shall not be less than 75dB (A) when the measuring distance is 1±0.05m. 4.6 Durability
When the bell is pulled, it should be light and flexible, without any stuck phenomenon. After 25,000 consecutive pulls, there shall be no damage. 5 Test methods
The testing equipment and instruments used in the tests of this chapter shall comply with the provisions of GB12742. 5.1 Appearance test
Use visual inspection, and the test conditions shall comply with the provisions of QB/T1217, Section 5.1.2. 5.2 Test of chrome-plated layer surface roughness
Compare with standard samples, which should meet the requirements of Appendix A of QB/T1217. 5.3 Test of chrome-plated layer thickness
5.3.1 The test is in accordance with the provisions of Article 5.3.2 of QB/T1217. 5.3.2 The test location is the arc and circumference of the bell cover. 5.4 Test of chrome-plated layer corrosion resistance
The test method is in accordance with the provisions of Article 5.4.2 of QB/T1217. 5.5 Sound pressure level test
5.5.1 The sound level meter used for the sound pressure level test should meet the requirements of Type 2 or above sound level meters in GB3785. 5.5.2 When measuring the sound pressure level, it should be carried out in an anechoic room, and the sound pressure level of the indoor base noise should be lower than 50dB (A). 5.5.3 The test environment temperature is 10~30℃. 5.5.4 Installation of the bell
5.5.4.1 During the test, the bell is fixed on a test stand equipped with a 15kg metal base. The design of the metal base should avoid the echo on the base surface and the vibration of the base itself, so that they will not have a significant impact on the test results. 5.5.4.2 The bell and the microphone should be at the same height, and their height from the ground should be 1.15~1.25m. 5.5.4.3 The distance between the diaphragm of the microphone and the center of the bell is 1±0.05m. 5.5.5 Test steps
QB/T1723--93
5.5.5.1 Pull the bell continuously within 6±0.5 full stroke 10 times, and repeat this process five times at intervals. 5.5.5.2 The test result should be the average of the maximum values in each of the five times. 5.6 Durability test
Install the bell on a bell durability test machine, and pull the bell continuously for 25,000 times at full stroke at a frequency of 60±1 times/min, and then check whether there is any damage. 6 Inspection rules
