A.1 Scope
Appendix A
(Normative Appendix)
Determination of nitrate content
This method specifies the determination method of nitrate content in palladium chloride. This method is applicable to the determination of nitrate content in palladium chloride. A.2 Principle of the method
The sample is dissolved in dilute hydrochloric acid and the pH is adjusted to 7 with sodium hydroxide to precipitate and separate palladium. In sulfuric acid medium, nitrate reacts with sodium blue disulfonate to fade. The nitrate content in the sample is determined by visual colorimetry. A.3 Reagents and materials
Sodium nitrate, analytical grade.
A.3.2 Ammonium chloride, analytical grade.
A.3.3 Sulfuric acid (pl.84g/mL), analytical grade. A.3.4
Hydrochloric acid (1+1).
A.3.5 Hydrochloric acid (1+3).
Sodium hydroxide solution (2.5mol/L).
Sodium indigo disulfonate solution (0.001mol/L). A.3.7
A.3.8 Nitrate standard solution: Weigh 3.43mg sodium nitrate into a 100mL beaker, add 20mL water to dissolve, transfer to a 500mL volumetric flask, dilute to the mark with water, and mix well. This solution contains 0.005mg nitrate in 1mL. A.4 Analysis steps
A.4.1 Test materials
Weigh 1g palladium chloride powder sample, accurate to 0.001g. A.4.2 Blank test
Carry out a blank test along with the sample. Add 1g of ammonium chloride to the blank and dilute to 10 mL. A.4.3 Standard test
Take 10.0mL of nitrate standard solution in a 150mL beaker, add 1g of ammonium chloride, dissolve it, and evaporate it on a low-temperature electric stove until it is almost dry. The following is carried out according to A.4.4.2 and A.4.4.3. A.4.4 Determination
A.4.4.1 Place the sample (A.4.1) in a 100mL beaker, cover it with a watch glass, add 30ml of hydrochloric acid (A.3.5), heat at low temperature until it is completely dissolved, remove it, cool it, rinse the surface blood and the wall of the beaker with water, transfer it to a 50mL volumetric flask, dilute it to the scale with water, and mix it well. A.4.4.2 Transfer 5.0mL (Solution No. 1) and 25.0mI (Solution No. 2) test solution is placed in a 100ml beaker, evaporated on a low-temperature electric stove until nearly dry, add 25ml of water and 2-3 drops of hydrochloric acid (A.3.4), and heat to dissolve. Remove, adjust the pH to 7 with sodium hydroxide solution, so that all palladium is converted into hydrated palladium oxide, filter, wash with water 3-4 times, combine the filtrate and washings, and evaporate to dryness. A4.4.3 The residue is dissolved with 10mL of water, transferred to a 50mL volumetric flask, 1mL of sodium indigo disulfonate, 20mL of water, mix well, add 10mL of sulfuric acid within 10s~15s under shaking, let stand for 10min, dilute with water to the scale, and mix. Determine the content of nitrate in the sample by visual colorimetry.
