The purpose is to unify the identification of climate information to meet the application needs of various relevant departments for the exchange, aggregation, retrieval and other applications of climate information. This standard is mainly formulated based on the relevant contents of the "China Climate Resources Atlas" compiled by the China Meteorological Administration and published by China Cartographic Publishing House in 1994. This standard applies to the identification of climate information in the process of resource and environmental investigation and analysis, information summary and statistics, information exchange and processing, utilization of climate resources, and disaster prevention and relief by relevant departments according to climate regionalization. 2 Classification principles, methods and regionalization indicators 2.1 Classification principles and methods This standard divides the national climate regions according to the basic principles of information classification such as scientificity, integrity, systematicity and practicality based on the temperature indicators and annual dryness indicators of various regions in China, and adopts the linear classification method. The climate regionalization of this standard consists of two levels: climate zones and climate regions. 2.2 Zoning Indicators 2.2.1 Climate Zone Indicators —Climate Zones. The number of days when the 5-day sliding mean temperature stably exceeds (3)10°C is used as the main indicator for dividing climate zones. In the marginal tropics, mid-tropics and equatorial tropics, the accumulated temperature of 310°C is used as a further indicator for division. See Table 1. The multi-year average annual dryness is used as the dryness and wetness index for dividing climate zones. See Table 2. Note: Dryness refers to the ratio of the maximum possible evaporation to precipitation, which is used to reflect the dryness and wetness of the climate in each region. A dryness greater than 1 indicates that the precipitation is insufficient, and a dryness less than 1 indicates that the precipitation is excessive. The so-called "maximum possible evaporation" refers to the evaporation and transpiration of soil and vegetation (based on green short grass) under the condition that the soil is often kept in a mixed state (or close to a wet state). The maximum possible evaporation is calculated using the Penman (HI.Penman) formula. In the humid, sub-humid, sub-arid, arid and extremely arid climate types, there are natural landscapes such as forests, forest steppes, grasslands, semi-deserts and deserts.
