Petroleum and Natural Gas Industry Standard of the People's Republic of China SY/T 5447-92 Non-destructive Testing Methods for Oil and Gas Pipe Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement 1952-10-01 Implementation Ministry of Energy of the People's Republic of China 1 Subject Content and Scope of Application Petroleum and Natural Gas Industry Standard of the People's Republic of China Non-destructive Testing Methods for Oil and Gas Pipe Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement This standard specifies the ultrasonic testing method for the wall thickness of oil and gas pipes. This standard is applicable to the testing of the wall thickness of pipes used in oil and gas wells, and is also applicable to the testing of the wall thickness of other similar pipes. 2 Thickness Equipment 2.1 Thickness Gauge 2.1.1 Use pulse reflection ultrasonic thickness gauge with digital display. 2.1.2 The accuracy is ±(1% thickness value + 0.1) mm. 2.1.3 The thickness gauge should be able to work in an environment of -10 to 40°C. 2.2 Probe 2.2.1 Select a dual-chip probe with a frequency of 2 to 5MHz. 2.2.2 The probe should be able to measure materials with an outer diameter of not less than 30mm. 2.3 Coupling agent SY/T 5447--92 A non-toxic, non-corrosive and economically obtainable liquid with good acoustic permeability can be used as a coupling agent. 3 Comparison test block 3.1 The material of the test block should be similar to that of the pipe to be tested in terms of sound velocity and ultrasonic attenuation performance. The test block used to measure pipes with a diameter of less than 76mm should be processed into a corresponding curved surface. 3.2 The thickness of the test block should at least include the nominal wall thickness of the pipe to be tested and the lower limit of the wall thickness allowed, and its roughness should not exceed La6.3um. 4 Thickness measurement method 4.1 Workpiece preparationbzxZ.net Remove the grease, scale, anti-corrosion coating and other debris on the outer surface of the part to be measured, and apply the compound. 4.2 Instrument calibration 4.2.1 Adjust the acoustic switch according to the longitudinal wave acoustic transmission of the measured pipe. 4.2.2 Adjust the instrument on the test block with the same nominal wall thickness as the measured pipe so that the displayed value is the same as the actual thickness of the test block. 4.2.3: Check on the test block with the same thickness as the lower limit of the wall thickness of the measured pipe, and the display error should not exceed ±0.1mm. 4.3 Measurement 4.3.1 The probe should be placed so that its dividing line is perpendicular to the axis of the pipe body, and the probe should be pressed lightly to ensure good acoustic contact. 4,3.2 Use point thickness measurement method. When it is necessary to perform dense point thickness measurement within a certain range, the probe should move in a jumping manner, and relative movement should not be made when the probe contacts the surface of the pipe body. 4.3.3 Readings can be made only after the numerical display is stable. Display stability means that the same numerical value (±0.1mm) is maintained for at least 3s. Approved by the Ministry of Energy of the People's Republic of China on April 27, 1992 and implemented on October 1, 1992 4.4 Calibration of the instrument SY/T 5447-92 The instrument must be calibrated according to the requirements of Article 4 before each operation. 4.4.1 4.4.2 The instrument must be recalibrated in any of the following situations: a. The zero point or the sound velocity switch position on the instrument has changed: 100 points have been measured continuously: Unqualified thickness value or abnormal display appears; The probe or coupling agent has been replaced; The battery has been replaced or the power supply has been changed; The instrument or probe has been repaired; 9. At the end of the work. Recalibrate the instrument according to the attachment. If the display error is found to exceed +0.2mm, the data measured after the last night calibration should be rechecked. 4.4.3 5 Evaluation and marking Evaluate according to the corresponding standards of the pipes and mark the qualified and unqualified pipes respectively. *6 Measurement report The measurement report should at least include: pipe specifications, thickness gauge model, comparison test block, coupling agent, pipe-by-pipe measurement results, tester and time and place. Additional remarks: This standard was proposed by the Oil Pipe Standardization Committee. This standard was drafted by the Drilling Engineering Service Company of the Central Plains Oil Exploration Bureau. The main drafter of this standard is Wang Ruijun. This standard continues to be effective after the review in 199 , and the review result has been approved by the State Bureau of Petroleum and Chemical Industry.
