This standard is a revision of QB1659-92 "Toothbrush". The main revisions are: the bristles of all toothbrushes must be rounded, and the products sold must be packaged. In addition, it is added that disposable toothbrushes are also applicable to this standard, which can effectively protect the interests of consumers and fight against counterfeiting and inferior products.
This standard also quotes part of GB9689-88 "Food Hygiene Standard". This standard is proposed by the Quality Standards Department of the China Light Industry General Association. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Daily Miscellaneous Products Standardization Center. The drafting units of this standard are: Shanghai Kitchen Factory, Suzhou No. 9 Plastic Factory, Procter & Gamble (China) Co., Ltd., and Beijing No. 2 Light Industry Center Measurement Station.

This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of toothbrushes. This standard applies to toothbrushes made of raw materials that are harmless to the human body. This standard does not apply to special toothbrushes and functional toothbrushes. 2 Referenced standards

4.1 Hygiene requirements

5 Test methods
5.1 Hygiene requirements

5.1.1 Decolorization test: Use cotton soaked in 65% ethanol to wipe the brush back and forth 100 times and observe whether there is color on the cotton.
5.1.2 The sales product must be packaged, and the bristles are qualified if they are not directly touched by hands. 5.2 Safety requirements
Visually inspect at a distance of 300mm from the toothbrush under natural light or 40W light, and check by hand. 5.3 Specifications and dimensions
Measure with a vernier caliper with an accuracy of 0.02mm, a micrometer with an accuracy of 0.01mm, and a ruler with an accuracy of 0.5mm.
5.4 Physical properties
5.4.1 Pull force of bristles
5.4.1.1 Test equipment: Pull test machine (with a range of less than or equal to 100N), bristle clamp, and brush head clamp. 5.4.1.2 Sample preparation: Sampling according to the requirements of type inspection, leaving one tuft of bristles on each brush, and cutting off the rest of the bristles. Keep the temperature at 20±5°C for 4h.
5.4.1.3 Test conditions: Temperature 20±5C, the lifting speed of the test machine is a uniform speed of 100±10mm/min. 5.4.1.4 Test steps: Connect the brush head to the lower holder of the test machine through the brush head clamp (with the bristles facing upward), connect the bristle clamp to the upper holder of the test machine, align the bristle clamp with the retained bristles and clamp them, and read the reading of the test machine during hair removal (see Figure 3).

5.4.3.1 Test device: Tensile testing machine (with a range of less than or equal to 100N), steel wire, and a sharp handle clamp. 5.4.3.2 Sample preparation: Measure 15mm from the top end of an adult toothbrush (10mm for children's toothbrushes and 10mm for infants) to make the first mark, and then measure 80mm from the top end (65mm for children's toothbrushes and 50mm for infants) to make the second mark. 5.4.3.3 Test conditions: Temperature 20±5°C, the lifting speed of the test machine is a uniform speed of 100±10mm/min. 5.4.3.4 Test steps: Fold a steel wire with a diameter of 2mm and a length of about 250mm in half and put it into the upper holder of the test machine. Put the brush handle into the brush handle fixture and fix it at the second mark (with the bristles facing downward). The brush handle fixture is connected to the lower holder of the test machine. 5.4.4 Temperature resistance

5.4.5.2 Sample preparation: Take a single filament from a toothbrush and soak it in water at 20±2°C for 18h. 5.4.5.3 Test conditions and steps: Take 5 single filaments and gently put them into the hole. The protruding part cannot be larger than the radius of the hole. The method of putting the single filaments is shown in Figure 7. Immerse the metal plate and the sample in water at 50±2°C for 2min, take it out and then immerse it in water at 20±2°C again. Take it out after soaking for 30s, then gently take the sample out of the hole and immerse it in water at 20±2°C for 15min. 6.1 Products can only be issued with a product certificate after they have passed the inspection specified in this standard before leaving the factory. 6.2 Acceptance inspection
6.2.1 Products with the same production date are considered as one batch in the acceptance inspection. B.2.2 Acceptance inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB2828, and a normal inspection and one-time sampling plan of general inspection level II shall be adopted. Its inspection items, technical requirements, test methods and AQL values ​​are shown in Table 4. If one item of each product fails to meet the standards, it shall be deemed as unqualified. Table 4

6.2.3 If the acceptance inspection determines that a batch is unqualified, the batch of products shall be reworked before re-inspection. When the consignee proposes physical and chemical test requirements beyond this standard, the supply and demand parties shall negotiate to resolve the issue. 6.3 Type inspection
6.3.1 For the type inspection, 25 samples shall be randomly selected from the qualified products of the delivery inspection for inspection of all technical requirements.
Type inspection shall be carried out in any of the following cases. a)
Trial production and identification of new products or old products for transfer to factory production: when there are major changes in structure, materials, and processes after normal production, which may affect product performance: during normal production, it shall be carried out once a year, and when production is resumed after the production is stopped for 1 year;
When there is a major difference between the factory inspection results and the last type inspection: when the national quality supervision agency proposes a type inspection requirement. Type inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB2829, using a single sampling plan of discrimination level I.
