The main changes of this standard compared with GB/T 6005-1997 are as follows: - Modified scope; - Added normative reference documents; - Added Appendix A "Comparison table of parameters of wire mesh for test sieves"; - Modified terms and definitions. This standard specifies the basic dimensions of mesh holes of wire mesh, perforated plate and electroformed sheet as the screening medium of test sieves. This standard applies to wire mesh, perforated plate and electroformed sheet. In this standard, the basic size of mesh openings of wire mesh and electroformed sheet, which is less than or equal to 32μm, adopts the R′10 series as the main size series. In view of the small interval between adjacent basic sizes less than 32μm, the selection of basic sizes of the R′10 series is restricted.

GB/T 6005—2008
This standard specifies the basic dimensions of mesh openings of wire mesh, perforated plates and other formed sheets used as test sieves for screening metal. This standard is applicable to wire mesh, perforated plates and electroformed sheets. The basic dimensions of mesh openings of wire mesh and electroformed sheets in this standard, which are less than or equal to 32 um, all adopt R'10 series as the main dimension series.
In view of the small interval between adjacent basic dimensions of 32 μr, the R'10 series is not used for the basic dimensions of wire mesh, perforated plates and other formed sheets. The selection of the original size of the series is restricted.

The basic size of the test sieve holes is indicated by the center distance of opposite sides or the diameter. For perforated plates and profiled sheets, the type of holes is also indicated: square holes or uniform holes.
4.2 For sieve holes greater than or equal to 1 mm, it is expressed in mm; for sieve holes less than 1 mm, it is expressed in μm6
Basic size of mesh holes
The basic size of mesh holes is shown in Table 2 and Table 3. It is recommended to use the main size series, but if a small gradient of mesh size series is required, one of the two supplementary size series R20 or R40/3 should be selected.
