This specification is applicable to the naming and classification coding of measuring instruments managed by law, such as the Catalogue of Measuring Instruments Managed by Law in the People's Republic of China (Type Approval Part) (hereinafter referred to as the Type Approval Self-Record), the "Catalogue of Working Measuring Instruments Subject to Compulsory Verification in the People's Republic of China" (hereinafter referred to as the Compulsory Verification Catalogue), and other measuring instruments managed by law. 2.1 The naming of measuring instruments should be concise, scientific, reasonable, easy to understand and take into account habits. 2.2 The naming of measuring instruments should be able to represent their functions and uses. If necessary, they can be described by their basic characteristics such as structure, principle, material, measurement range or special measurement object. 2.3 The naming of measuring instruments is generally composed of subject terms, measurement objects and several basic characteristic terms. 2.3.1 Subject terms consist of words or phrases that reflect the basic features of measuring instruments, such as "instrument", "meter", "instrument", "machine", "ruler", "ruler", "device", etc. 2.3.2 Measurement object consists of the measured object, including the measurable quantity and the attributive that modifies the measured object 2.3.3 Basic characteristic terms consist of measurement principle (generally followed by "formula"), characteristic description words (generally refers to the structure, material, function, accuracy, measurement range, sensitivity, etc. that must be emphasized), used to distinguish measuring instruments with different uses or different requirements.
2.3.4 When naming measuring instruments, generally one subject term, measurement object, and two or less basic characteristic terms can be selected, and generally no more than 20 Chinese characters should be used.
