Ics13.100 National occupational health standard of the People's Republic of China GBZ135-2002 Health protection standard for sealed radioactive source containers Radiological protection standards for containerofsealedradiationsource 2002-04-08 Issued Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China 2002-06-01 Implementation Normative references Terms and definitions General requirements for sealed radioactive source containers Radiological protection requirements for sealed radioactive source containers used as transport containers Additional requirements for sealed radioactive source containers used as working source storage containers Foreword This standard is formulated in accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Occupational Diseases. From the date of implementation of this standard, the original standard WS180-1999 will be invalidated at the same time. Chapters 4 to 7 of this standard are mandatory, and the rest are recommended. In order to strengthen the radiation protection and safety management during the storage, application and transportation of sealed Y radioactive sources, to serialize, scope and standardize the design and manufacture of various types of sealed Y radioactive source containers commonly used in my country, and to comply with the principle of optimization of radiation protection, this standard was drafted based on the investigation and research on the sanitary protection of source containers during the production, use, storage and transportation of sealed Y radioactive sources and their application devices in my country, and with reference to relevant domestic and foreign materials. This standard was proposed and managed by the Ministry of Health. The drafting unit of this standard: Institute of Radiation Medicine, Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences. The main drafters of this standard: Zong Xiyuan, Deng Daping, Sun Zuozhong, Qiu Yuhui. The Ministry of Health is responsible for the interpretation of this standard. Sanitary Protection Standard for Sealed Y Radioactive Source Containers 1 Scope GBZ135-2002 This standard specifies the general requirements, radiation protection requirements and additional protection requirements for sealed Y radioactive source containers as transport containers or working source storage containers. This standard applies to the design, manufacture and use of general storage and transport containers for sealed Y radioactive sources of various activities and energies, and also applies to the design, manufacture and use of working source storage containers used in conjunction with Y radiation application devices. 2 Normative References The clauses in the following documents become clauses of this standard through reference in this standard. For any dated referenced document, all subsequent amendments (excluding errata) or revisions are not applicable to this standard. However, parties to an agreement based on this standard are encouraged to study whether the latest versions of these documents can be used.
