The grade of electrolytic manganese consists of three parts represented by the Chinese phonetic letter (DJ) of electrolytic manganese, the main element Mn, and the quality grade symbol (A, B, C, D) arranged in order.
For example, DJMnA
Among them:
The first letter of the Chinese pinyin of the word "electrolysis" in electrolytic manganese metal: Mn——-the main element of electrolytic manganese metal;
A——quality grade symbol.

A.1 Scope
Appendix A
(Informative Appendix)
Determination of trace selenium by potassium periodate catalytic polarography This appendix specifies the principle, reagents and materials, analysis steps, result calculation, and allowable error for the determination of trace selenium by potassium periodate catalytic polarography. This appendix is applicable to the determination of trace selenium in electrolytic manganese metal. Determination range (mass fraction): 0.00005%~0.0015%. A.2 Principle
The sample is decomposed by nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and perchloric acid, and SeOF- is converted into SeS(- in an acidic solution. Citric acid and EDTA are used to eliminate the interference of elements such as Hg, Sh and Sn. Selenium is directly determined by catalytic polarography in the presence of nitrogenous base solution at 10℃. A.3 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise specified, reagents confirmed as high-grade pure and distilled water or water of equivalent purity should be used in the analysis. A.3.1 Nitric acid (pl. 42 g/mL).
A.3.2 Hydrochloric acid (pl. 19 g/mL).
A.3.3 Perchloric acid (pl.67g/ml).
A.3.4 Sodium sulfite solution (150g/I). A.3.5 Potassium periodate solution (2.5g/T). A.3.6 Mixed solution: 2g citric acid, 3g EDTA, 15g20g ammonium fluoride and 60mL ammonia water (p0.09g/ml) in a 100ml volumetric flask, dilute to scale with water and mix well. A.3.7 Selenium standard solution A: Weigh 0.1000g pure selenium (99.99%) in a 50ml beaker, heat on a water bath, add 20mL nitric acid (A.3.1), dissolve completely, transfer to a 1000ml volumetric flask, dilute to scale with water and mix well. This solution contains 100μg selenium in 1mL. A.3.8 Selenium standard solution B: Pipette 10 ml of the above solution (A.3.7) into a 1000 mL volumetric flask, add 10 mL of nitric acid (A.3.1), dilute to the mark with water, and mix. This solution contains 1 μg of selenium per mL. Repeat the same dilution operation again, and this solution contains 0.01 μg of selenium per mL.
A.4 Analysis steps
A.4.1 Determination
Weigh 0.1000g of sample into a 25mL beaker, add 1mL perchloric acid (A.3.3), 6mL~7mL nitric acid (A.3.1) and 1mL hydrochloric acid (A.3.2), cover with a watch glass, heat to decompose and evaporate and smoke until the volume is about 0.5ml. Remove, cool slightly, wash with about 10mL water into a 25mL colorimetric tube, add 2ml. sodium sulfite solution (A.3.4), shake well, cover and place for 30min, add 5ml. mixed solution (A.3.6) and 2mL potassium periodate solution (A.3.5), dilute to scale with water, and mix well. After leaving for 30min, draw a waveguide derivative polarogram at a starting potential of 0.6V, and find the amount of selenium from the curve. A.4.2 Drawing of working curve
Pipette 0ml, 0.50ml, 1.00ml, 2.00ml, 4.00ml, 8.00ml, 16.00ml of selenium standard solution (A.3.8) into a set of 25ml colorimetric tubes, add 0.5ml of perchloric acid (A.3.3), dilute to about 10ml with water, shake well, add 2ml of sodium sulfite solution (A.3.4), mix well, and then perform polarographic determination according to A.4.1. Draw the working curve with the amount of selenium as the horizontal axis and the derivative polarographic value as the vertical axis. A.5 Calculation of results
Calculate the selenium content (mass fraction) in the sample according to formula (A.1): Where:
(Se)(%) = ml /m2 × 100
The amount of selenium found from the working curve, in grams (g); m
The amount of sample, in grams (\):
A.6 Allowable difference
The difference in analysis results between laboratories should not be greater than the allowable difference listed in Table A.1. Table A.1 Allowable difference
Selenium content (mass fraction)
0. 000 C5 -~ 0. 000 2C
≥>0. 000 20 ~ 0, 000 5C
>0. 000 50 ~0. 001 0
>0.001 0~0.001 5
Test report
The test report shall include the following:
Information such as identification of the test material, laboratory and analysis date; degree of compliance with the provisions of this method;
