Sucker rods (sucker rod pup joints, polished rods, couplings and reducing couplings) Specification for one-end forged roughened rods and their couplings
Sucker rod material mechanical properties·
This standard is equivalent to ISO 10428:1993 "Sucker rods (sucker rod pup joints, polished rod couplings and reducing couplings) for petroleum and natural gas industries" Specification".
This standard supplements the recommended one-end upset polished rod and the mechanical properties of related sucker rod materials while equivalently adopting ISO10428:1993 (i.e. API Spec 11B 1990 24th edition). The guilty page and the back page of "supplement" in API Spec 11B, the notes on copying or translation, the use of the API monogram, the policy statement, the statement on the application for the license to use the API monogram, the API license agreement, and the list of calibration standard gauges...are deleted. The equivalent adoption of the international standard ISO10428:1993 makes the standards of the important parts of oil and gas production in my country - sucker rods (including sucker rod short section polished rods, couplings and reducing couplings) consistent with In line with international standards, adapting to the needs of international trade, technical and economic exchanges and participation in international standardization activities
When equivalently adopting ISO10428:1993 and converting it into the standard of this industry, in addition to adopting the full text of the standard, its writing format and method are used. The foreword and introduction of ISO10428:1993 and the foreword of API standard are retained. It should be pointed out here that there are some doubts and omissions in the ISO10428:1993 standard. When we converted it into the wood industry standard, we appropriately adopted corrective footnotes to explain it while maintaining the original text. This standard shall be implemented from June 30, 1996. This standard shall also replace S Y/T5029-93 "Sucker rods and their couplings" (GB722987), SY/T5058-93 "Sucker rods and their couplings", SY5282-91 "Sucker rod clamps" and SY/T5G42-93 "Sucker rod sealing box" (ZBE9201990).
Appendix A and Appendix B of this standard are reminder appendices. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Petroleum Drilling and Production Equipment and Tools. The responsible drafting units of this standard are: Petroleum Exploration and Development Research Institute of Petroleum Industry Standardization, Yumen Petroleum Administration Bureau Machinery. The participating drafting units of this standard are: Lanzhou Petroleum Machinery Research Institute, Northeast Oil Transportation Administration Bureau Tieling Machinery Factory Petroleum Pipe Research Institute. The main drafters of this standard are Wang Minqian, Qiang Shengcheng, Lei Yanying, Zhang Liying, and Yu Guigen.
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is a joint organization of national standard bodies (ISO member groups) in the world. The work of formulating international standards is carried out through some ISO technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been established has the right to be represented on that committee. Certain international organizations, governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization. Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an International Standard requires approval by a deciding vote of at least 75 % of the member bodies.
International Standard ISO 10428 was prepared by the American Petroleum Institute (API) (as Spec 11B, 24th edition) and adopted under a specific "fast track procedure" by ISO 7TC67 Technical Committee on Materials, Equipment and Offshore Structures for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries and approved by the ISO member bodies.
ISO Introduction
International Standard ISO 10428:1993 Reproduction of API Spec 11B 24th edition, 1990, and Supplement 1 (1 April 1991). In recognizing API documents, ISO recognizes that these documents do not conform to all current ISO guidelines in terms of format and expression of international standards in certain aspects. Therefore, the relevant technical organizations in ISO/TC67 will review ISO10428:1993 and review it again in a format that conforms to the above guidelines when feasible. As for when and where to use this standard, this standard does not intend to exclude the need for reasonable engineering judgment: users of this standard should be aware that additional and different requirements are in line with the expected specific service needs. The standards referenced here may be replaced by other international standards or national standards. It can be shown that they meet or are superior to the requirements of the referenced standards. Appendix A of the API document "shall not be considered as a requirement part of this standard. Adoption instructions

Sucker rods (sucker rod pup joints, polished rods, couplings and reducers) This international standard specifies the dimensional characteristics, chemical and mechanical properties, and measurement methods of sucker rods (sucker rod pup joints, polished rods, couplings and reducers) used in the petroleum and natural gas industry. 2 Requirements
The requirements are specified in the API Specification 11B (Spec 11B), 24th edition, 1990 - Sucker rods (sucker rod pup joints, polished rods, couplings and reducers) specification, which was adopted as ISO10428. However, as intended by international standardization, the changes shall apply to the specified chapters and clauses of the publication API Spec 11B. These changes are briefly described below.
Throughout the publication API Spec 11B, the conversion of English units shall be made in accordance with ISO 31\. Length 1 inch (in) = 25.4 mm (exact value) 1 foot (fl) = 304.8 mm or 0.3048 m (exact value) Torque 1 foot pound force (ft*Ibf) = 1.355818 Nm Temperature Fahrenheit (°F) is converted to Celsius (℃) using the following formula ℃ = 5/9 (°F-32)

This chapter The rat gauge verification system specified is not considered as an integral part of this International Standard: the system should be a subject of future study by ISO/TC67 in order to establish an ISO or ISO/API verification system. The registration of verification bodies and standard gauges should be carried out in accordance with Annex N of Part 1 of the ISO/IEC Directives.
