With the development of science and technology, nanotechnology is and will continue to affect all aspects of human production and life, and will promote the development of communication, medical treatment, manufacturing, materials and other related technical fields. In order to promote the development, application and communication of nanotechnology in the fields of industry, it is necessary to unify the relevant terms and definitions. In GB/T30541, "terms\ refer to: a) the term structure or concept of nanotechnology; b) the definition of terms in the proper context of the attributive. This part of GB/T30511 lists the core terms and definitions of nanotechnology and serves as the basis for the GB/T30514 terminology standard. Taking the terms \nanoobject (2.5)\ and \nanoscale (2.1)\ as examples, the measurable intrinsic properties of nanomaterials are defined from the perspectives of size or geometric boundaries. For "nanoscale", the upper and lower limits are approximate values, while the actual size of the nanoobject is called the super-central definition. The scope of this article is different from the actual boundaries defined in the concept of "scale" in technical evaluation. As the application of nanotechnology in new industries becomes more and more extensive, scientific understanding must also develop in parallel. For example, is fullerene a particle or a nanomaterial? There is still controversy: but it should be acknowledged that the impact of nanomaterials on the environment, health and safety, whether produced purposefully or during the production process, does not suddenly disappear when their size exceeds 1000 μm. As scientific knowledge expands, the point is very clear that practical terms such as nano-objects or nanostructured materials need to be defined not only in terms of basic size and shape, but also in terms of effective Capture and convey the performance it contains.
The rapid development of terminology should conform to the needs of society. As a terminology system for communication tools, its definition cannot be too rigid: but it cannot be too flexible or too general: too rigid will overemphasize certain aspects and fail to make specific analysis of specific situations, nor can it flexibly describe related new discoveries; while if it is too general, it may lead to the meaning and usage being far from the actual situation. The dimensions or internal structure of nanomaterials are at the nanoscale, and they may have intrinsic properties or energy that are significantly different from single-atom molecules or bulk materials.
In CB/T3054 In this part of 4, the definitions of terms are consistent with the nanotechnology framework and terminology levels. The reason for the level division is to cover all materials with internal or surface structures at the nanoscale. Figure 1 describes the relationship between nanomaterials (2.4), nanoobjects (2.5) and nanostructured materials (2.7). Part 1: Core Terminology
This part of GB130541 defines the technical terms and definitions related to nanotechnology core terms, aiming to promote the analysis and exchange of information between the industry, government organizations, associations and other relevant parties related to nanotechnology. 2 Terms and Definitions
Nanoscale
The size range between 1 nm and 100 nm. NOTE 1. This size range generally, but not exclusively, refers to properties that cannot be obtained in larger sizes. For these properties, the lower limit of the scale is approximately false.
Note 2: The lower limit (about 1m) introduced in this definition is for the purpose of exempting a single or a small group of atoms from being considered as a nano-object or nano-structure unit when no lower limit is set.
Nanoscience
namoscience
The discipline that studies the size- and structure-related properties and phenomena that occur at the nanoscale and are significantly different from those of individual atoms, molecules or bulk materials:
nanotechnology
Nanotechnology
The application of scientific knowledge to manipulate and control matter at the nanoscale (2.1) to exploit the size- and structure-related properties and phenomena that are significantly different from those of individual atoms, molecules or bulk materials. Note: Manipulation and control including material synthesis
nanomalerial
materials with internal or surface structures at the nanoscale (2.1), Note 1: This general term includes nano-objects (2.5) and nanostructured materials (2.7), Note 2: engineered nanomaterials (2, 8), artificial nanomaterials (2.9) and associated nanomaterials (2, 13) 2.5
nano-objects
nano-cbiect
objects with one, two or three external dimensions at the nanoscale (2.1). Note: The applicable term is used for all and separate objects of different sizes. 2.6
nanastructure
nanostructure
interrelated components with one or more parts at the nanoscale (2.1) region Note: The region is defined by the proximity of the properties. GB/T 3G544.1—2014/IS0/TS 80004-1:20102.7
Nanostructured material nanostrucutred material Material with nanostructures (2.6) inside or on the surface. Note: This definition does not exclude the possibility that a nanoobject (2.5) has nanostructures only inside or on the surface. If the external dimension (one or more) is at the nanoscale (2.1), the term "nanoobject" is used. 2.8
Engineered nanomaterial
Cngineered nanomaterial
Nanomaterial designed for a specific purpose or function (2.4). 2.9
manufactured nanomaterial
man-made nanomaterial
nanomaterial (2.4) with a specific function or composition manufactured for commercial purposes 2.10
incidentalnanormaterial nanomaterial (2.4) produced unintentionally as a by-product of a process, Note 1: including biological processes, including reverse processes, See I80T527628: 27, 2.21 for the definition of “ultrafine particles”, 2.11
nanomanufacturing
nanofabrication
the formation, production or manipulation of nanomaterials (2.4) for commercial purposes, or at the nanoscale (2.1> nanomanufacturing process

nanoscale phenomenon
nanoscale phenomenon
the effect produced by a nano-object (2.5) or nanoscale (2.1) range, 2.14
