General technical requirements for domestic satellite communication earth stations Part 1 General requirements General technical requirements for domestic satellite communication earth stations Part 4 TV/FM carrier channel equipment consists of transmitting equipment, receiving equipment, TV channel equipment and other units. See Figure 1 for a typical block diagram. Each functional unit can be a single device or several functional units can form a device. The interface level between each unit is a recommended typical value. Each functional unit should generally have a main and a standby and be adaptable to automatic or manual switching. 1
