Linear dimensions The shortest distance between two fixed points, two parallel lines or two parallel surfaces determined by the corners, edges or surfaces of the sponge sample shall be measured according to the instruments specified in Chapter 3. 3 Measuring instruments 3.1 Thickness gauge: The measuring area is about 10cm*. The contact pressure is 100±10Pa, and the reading accuracy is 0.35mm. 3.2 Vernier caliper: The reading accuracy of the vernier is 0.1mm. 3.3 Metal ruler or metal tape measure: The reading accuracy is 0.3mm. Steps The selection of measuring instruments should be based on the accuracy required for the measured dimensions (see Table 1). 4.3 When the instrument accuracy is required to be 0.05mm, a thickness gauge (3.1) should be used. Measure with a vernier scale (3,2) The vernier scale should first be adjusted to a position close to the measured inch. When the measuring surface of the vernier caliper just touches the surface of the sample without squeezing or damaging the sample, the measuring position is reached. The reading of the vernier caliper is accurate to 0.2rmtrf. 4.5 Measuring with a metal ruler or metal tape measure (3.3) The sample should be in a flat, stretched, and tension-free state. The metal ruler or metal tape measure should not cause deformation or damage to the sample. The reading of the metal ruler or metal tape measure is accurate to!
