GB/T1835—2006
This standard modifies ISO1161:1984 "Series 1 containers - Technical conditions and test methods for corner fittings" including its technical corrigendum ISO1161:1984/Cor1.1990.
This standard is redrafted based on ISO1161:1984 and ISO1161:1984/Cor1:1990. The technical differences from ISO1161:1984 are as follows:
The design load for stacking has been modified. According to the actual situation of the current container stacking test, the design load value is 848kN; a normative appendix D has been added to specify the type, material, test, inspection, marking and packaging of container corner fittings. The above technical differences have been incorporated into the text and marked with a vertical single line in the margin of the clauses to which they refer. For ease of use, this standard has also made the following editorial changes: a) "this international standard" is changed to "this standard", b) the decimal point "," is used instead of the comma "," as a decimal point, c) the foreword of ISO1161:1984 has been deleted, and the introduction of ISO1161:1984 has been modified. This standard replaces GB/T1835-1995 "Technical conditions for container corner fittings". The main technical differences between this standard and GB/T1835-1995 are as follows: a) Added detailed requirements for corner fittings and British corner fittings dimensions and limit deviation diagrams (see Figures 2 and 4); Added strength requirements;
Added the design load of 34T container in the design load for lifting: Added the necessary characteristics of corner fittings in the design requirements (see 5.2); e)
Cancelled Chapter 4 "Material of corner fittings" in the original standard; Added Chapter 9 "Other requirements";
f) Added Appendix D "Types, requirements, inspection, marking and packaging of container corner fittings". Appendix D of this standard is a normative appendix, and Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C are informative appendices. This standard was proposed by the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Container Standardization (SAC/TC6). Drafting units of this standard: Ministry of Transport Science Research Institute, China Container Industry Association, China Classification Society, Railway Research Institute, Shaoguan Casting and Forging General Factory Container Corner Fittings Branch, Shanghai Zhonghua Shipyard. The main drafters of this standard are: Zhang Jingxuan, Shi Yanqiu, Ouyang Daiyun, Wang Haitao, Zhou Xing, Qi Xiangchun, Chen Kangfu, Liu Yong, Ni Yingchun. This standard replaces the previous standards: GB/T1835-1980, GB/T1835-1995. GB/T1835-2006

This standard is the result of the joint efforts of technicians and operators in the transportation industry. The drawings show the top and bottom corner fittings of series 1 containers, which will ensure the interchangeability of containers between various modes of transportation. When formulating this standard, only details related to such functions are considered. Appendix D of this standard, as a normative appendix, makes specific provisions on the types, material requirements and inspection methods of container corner fittings. This standard specifies the size and shape of the openings of the corner fittings. For each side of the corner fittings with openings for handling and bolting operations, the wall thickness and limit deviation of the area are specified (as shown in Figures 1 to 4). There is no regulation on the wall thickness of corner fittings without holes, because there is no need to insert turnlocks or other receiving parts on this surface, as long as the inner wall surface does not affect their insertion into the inner cavity of the corner fitting. The external dimensions of the top and bottom corner fittings listed in Appendix A are only typical examples and are not mandatory requirements. This standard makes specific provisions for design issues related to transshipment operations using automatic, semi-automatic and conventional handling equipment. The strength and test requirements shown in this standard do not take into account the working conditions of double-box docking group operations. Appendix B lists some illustrations of typical sling turnlocks installed on transportation equipment. Appendix C lists the retention and size requirements for turnlocks for special container vehicles. Note: This standard does not prevent the provision of additional devices for lifting operations on the top or bottom of containers. V
1 Scope
Series 1 Corner fittings for containers
GB/T1835—2006
This standard specifies the basic dimensions, design functions, strength and other requirements of corner fittings for various types of containers that meet the requirements of GB/T1413, GB/T5338, GB/T7392 and GB/T16563, and specifies the general principles of the types, materials, tests, inspections, markings and packaging of corner fittings for containers.
This standard applies to various types of containers specified in GB/T1413, GB/T5338, GB/T7392 and GB/T16563. This standard does not apply to air/land/water combined transport containers specified in GB/T17770. 2 Normative references

3 Dimension requirements
3.1 General
3.1.1 The dimensions and limit deviations of corner fittings shall comply with the provisions of Figures 1 to 4. Each container shall have two right top corner fittings (the right hand direction when the observer stands outside the container facing either end) and two corresponding left top corner fittings.
Except for the end holes, the structure of the bottom corner fittings and the top corner fittings shall be the same. Figures 1 to 4 show the dimensions of the right top corner fitting and the right bottom corner fitting, and the dimensions of the left top corner fitting and the left bottom corner fitting correspond to them. 3.1.2 For typical external dimensions of box-shaped corner fittings, see Appendix A. 3.2 Specific requirements for dimensions and manufacturing
3.2.1 The edges of corner fittings should not have sharp edges. 3.2.2 When the corner dimensions of the inner cavity and outer edge of the corner fitting are not specified, the radius should be made according to 3±.5mmc%ti/sin). 3.2.3 At the junction of two straight edges with a fillet radius of 6mm (yin) and another straight edge with a fillet radius of 14.5mm (%in), a small amount of metal is cut off from the outside of the corner fitting to make the corner spherical. 3.2.4 The minimum size of any inner wall of the corner fitting is 149mm (5%in). The radius of the corner at the connection between the legal horizontal plane and the inner wall shall not be greater than 5.5mm (7%2in). If a larger fillet radius is required, the size of 149mm (5%in) should also be increased accordingly. 4 Strength requirements
HKAoNiKAca
The design, structural method and materials used for corner fittings shall meet the requirements of the operation and test requirements of GB/T5338, GB/T7392 and GB/T16563.
5 Design requirements
5.1 Load

The corner fittings of 1AAA, 1AA, 1A and 1AX containers should be able to withstand the design loads specified in GB/T5338, GB/T7392 and GB/T16563. The design load values are as follows: 5.1.1 Stacking
Stacking requirements
The maximum load offset of top corner fittings is 25.4mm (1in) laterally and 38mm (1%in) longitudinally. Bottom corner fittings (placed on horizontal supports)
The maximum lateral offset of bottom corner fittings is 25.4mm (1in) and 38mm (1%in) longitudinally. 5.1.2 Lifting
Lifting requirements
Top corner fittings [twist locks (see Chapter 6), hooks or rings] Bottom corner fittings: The sling is at an angle of 30° to the horizontal line. Note: Lifting through bottom corner fittings:
a) The line of action of the sling load is parallel to the outer surface of the corner fitting, and the distance is not more than 38mm (1%in); b) The load values listed when the sling is at this angle are applicable to any angle between the sling and the plumb line. 5.1.3 Longitudinal control
