Introduction to standards:

JB/T 7970.2-1999 This standard is a revision of JB/T 7970.2-95 "Technical requirements for disc gear milling cutters". During the revision, the performance test chapter was deleted and editorial changes were made in accordance with relevant regulations. The technical content has not changed. This standard is part of the JB/T 7970 "Disc gear milling cutter" series of standards, which includes two parts: JB/T 7970.1: Basic types and dimensions JB/T 7970.2: Technical requirements This standard specifies the technical requirements, marking and basic requirements for packaging of disc gear milling cutters (hereinafter referred to as milling cutters). This standard is applicable to milling cutters with a reference tooth angle of 20° and a module ranging from 0.3 to 16 mm for machining spur involute cylindrical gears. This standard was first issued in 1988 as GB 9063.2-88 and was adjusted to JB/T 7970.2-95 in April 1996. This standard specifies the basic requirements for the technical requirements, marking and packaging of disc gear milling cutters (hereinafter referred to as milling cutters). This standard applies to milling cutters with a reference tooth profile angle of 20° and a module of 0.3-25mm for machining spur involute cylindrical gears. Technical Requirements
The milling cutter is made of W6Mo5Cr4V2 or high-speed steel with equivalent performance. The hardness of the working part of the milling cutter is 63-66HRC. There shall be no cracks, front edges, burns or other defects that affect the performance of the milling cutter. The surface roughness of the milling cutter shall comply with the following provisions:
The front face of the cutter teeth, the inner hole surface and both end faces: R1.25um; the back face of the toothed shovel: m≤16mm, R,12.5um: m>16mm, R,25μm:
The limit deviation of the outer diameter D of the milling cutter shall be h16, and the limit deviation of the thickness B shall be h13. The limit deviation of the inner hole d of the milling cutter shall be H7.
The remaining manufacturing tolerances of the milling cutter shall not exceed the provisions of Table 1. Table 1
Radial run-out of the circumferential edge in front of the cutter teeth to the inner hole axis within the cutting depth range: adjacent teeth
One rotation of the milling cutter
Oblique circular run-out of the side edge
Parallelism of the two end faces
Difference in distance from the two end faces of the milling cutter to any tooth profile point on the same diameter
Tooth profile tolerance:
Involute part
Tooth item and fillet part

Marking and packaging
JB/T7970.2—1999
The end face of the milling cutter should be marked with: manufacturer's trademark, module, reference tooth profile angle, milling cutter number, and range of the number of teeth of the gear to be milled. 3.1.1
2 The packaging box should be marked with: manufacturer's name, address and trademark, product name, module, reference tooth profile angle, milling cutter number, material, manufacturing year, and this standard number.
The milling cutter should be treated with rust prevention before packaging, and measures should be taken to prevent damage during packaging and transportation. 2
