This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T1.12009. GB/T3792—2021
This standard represents GB/T3792.1—2009 "Documentation Part 1: General Principles", GB/T3792.2-2006 "Jintong Book Cataloging Rules", GB/T3792.3—2009 "Documentation Part 3: Continuous Resources", GB/T3792.4—2009 "Documentation Part 4: Non-15 Materials", G13/T3792.6—2005 "Documentation Rules for Surveying and Mapping Materials", G3/T3792.7—2008 "Documentation Rules for Books", G3/T3792.92009 "Documentation Part 9: Electronic Resources", and G13/T34692013 "Content Form and Media Type Identification of Information Resources", and is a combined revision of these 8 standards. Compared with the above standards, this standard has the following major technical changes: Based on the International Standard Bibliographic Description.Consolidated Edition (ISBD), the cataloging rules of various resource types are merged into a unified standard. This standard is a general resource description standard for various types of resources; the resources applicable to this standard are increased by dissertations, rubbings, manuscripts, etc. on the basis of the above standards; based on the ISBL edition, the structure of the above standards is unified and appropriately adjusted; the professional vocabulary used in this standard is included in Appendix A as an informative note for easy reference; the description rule of the responsibility method in the responsibility statement is modified to be transcribed according to the form in which the resource appears. For example, if the responsibility statement form of the resource "chief editor is Jia Yimin", it can be described in this form without manual modification to "editor Jia Yimin"; when there are more than three responsible persons, only the first one is described, and it is modified to describe all responsible persons The number of descriptions can be determined by the resource description agency:
Change the description method of the resource title when there is an error to a double-error form description, and make a variant title retrieval point: Adjust some professional terms for the above labels, change "record" to "description"; change "unit" to "record unit" to "element" or "descriptive element"; include "document" as "resource", and include "primary information source" as "preferred information source" to be consistent with the unified version of ISBD) and other relevant international standards;
Integrate multiple standards that were originally compiled in separate volumes together, and add special provisions for a specific resource type under the general provisions for all resource types. Add special description rules for specific resource types, use "Liu Ding...Resource" as the guide, and display them in bold font.
This standard is proposed and assigned by the National Technical Committee for Information and Documentation Standardization (SAC/TC4). The drafting units of this standard are: Documentation and Information Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Library of China, Beijing Humanities Library, Tsinghua Humanities Library, Humanities Library of East China Normal University, Guangdong Provincial Zhongshan Library, Haitu Library, China Institute of Scientific and Technical Information, Baidu Library, Central Conservatory of Music Library, and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Library. The main drafters of this standard are: Zhu Wen, Shi Yang, Shuang Shuang, Yang Hui, Hu Xiaojing, Bao Guoqiang, Mao Lingwen, Mao Yajun, Ji Luen, Zhu Xueche, Wei Lai, Zhang Juan, Shi Ningning, Shen Zhenghua, Yuan Yuhong, and Huang Liting. The previous versions of the standards replaced by this standard are: GB/T 3792.1 1983, GB/T 3792.1 2009:—GB/T3792.2—1985GB/T3792.2—2006;—GB/T3792.3—1985,GB/T3792.3—2009; (G13/T 8792.4—1985,GB/T 3792.1—2009;GB/T 3792.6 1986,GB/ T 3792.6 2005:-GB/T3792.7—1987.GB/T3792.7—2008;GB/T3972.9—2009.GB/T3792.9—2009;—G3/T 3469—2013,

International Standard Bibliographical Lists (ISBDs series) and Anglo-American Bibliographical Lists (AACR2) serve the library's cataloguing It has been more than half a century. The national standard for serial document cataloging was first issued in 1983 and has been used in Chinese libraries for more than ten years. With the rapid changes in resource types and the rapid growth of resource quantities in the digital environment, The rules for recording resources based on resource types are no longer suitable for the rapidly changing digital environment. They cannot meet the needs of resource description and organization in the future digital environment. The research group released its research report: Functional Requires for Bibliographic Records (FRBR). The report analyzes the various entities involved in the data from the perspective of describing the digital society's full resource system and proposes a set of entity relationship models. In terms of basic research, FRBR has sorted out the attributes of each entity and the relationship between entities in detail. FRBR is a landmark research report with profound impact on the field of bibliographic records. After the release of FRBR, IFLA and AACR2 jointly The revision committee started the research of the new generation of description rules based on FRBR. In 2010, RDA: Reference and Description and Accuss was officially released; in 2011, Intcrnational Standard 1ibliographic Description. Eclition released,
With the development and changes of international bibliographic standards, how should my country's bibliographic standards keep up with the new development trend? How to update the existing national bibliographic standards? In 2012 and 2013, the National Information and Documentation Standardization Technical Committee held two seminars on document description, organizing the directors of major libraries and document description experts in China to discuss the key issues in the development of national standards for document description in my country. The discussion was conducted in depth on the issues of the international literature and the direction of the development trend. After discussion, consensus was reached on the following issues: a) merging the GB/T3792 series of standards into a unified standard; b) ) Based on the revision of the original standard, it follows the unified version of ISBD. At the same time, it refers to RDA for research and development. This standard is applicable to the description of various types of research resources by research institutions. This standard provides a wide range of research resources that may be needed by various research users. It is a description of the largest range of information, and therefore includes the most basic data elements required for a variety of book application scenarios. However, these elements are not required for all applications. In this standard, a small number of elements are mandatory elements, such as the title, which must appear in the description of each resource. Some elements are mandatory elements, such as the version description, which means that the resource is mandatory when it has this information. Most of the elements are optional. In this standard, each element title is followed by a term: mandatory or mandatory if present. Elements without a label are optional. This standard forms part of a complete bibliographic record and cannot be used independently. Other elements that make up a complete bibliographic record, such as access points and subject information, are not included in this standard. Information on these elements is described in other standards. The description of collection information, such as the location of the resource collection, collection information, and the availability of electronic resources, is not within the scope of this standard. These elements are given in GB/T24424:2009 Collection Description. When there are multiple types of resources (for example, an electronic continuous resource, a continuously published digital map), the composition combines the provisions of each type of resource to describe all aspects of the resource, including content, carrier and distribution method. To describe,
