The terms and definitions defined in SN/T0370.1 and SN/T0987.1 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1
Inspection lot
A certain number of intermediate bulk containers for dangerous goods produced with the same raw materials, the same process, and the same structure and brought together. 3.2
Fibreboard IBCs are IBCs consisting of a fibreboard box, with or without separate top and bottom covers, and, if necessary, an inner liner (but without inner container), as well as appropriate ancillary equipment and structural devices. 3.3
Maximum permissible gross mass
maximum permissible gross mass
The weight of the IBC and any ancillary equipment and structural devices plus the maximum net mass. 4 Requirements
4.1 Fibreboard IBCs should not use top lifting devices. 4.2 IBCs should be made of high-strength, high-quality solid or double-sided corrugated fibreboard (single or multi-layer), depending on the capacity and use of the container. The waterproof performance of the outer surface shall be tested in accordance with the requirements of ISO535:1991, and the weight increase measured in the 30-minute test using the Cobb method for determining water absorption shall not exceed 155 g/m. The fiberboard shall have appropriate flexibility, and the corrugated fiberboard shall be firmly adhered to the surface material using waterproof glue. 1
SN/T 0987.72013
4.3 The container wall, including the top and bottom, shall have a minimum puncture resistance of 15 J as measured in accordance with ISO3036:1975. 4.4 The joints manufactured in the main body of the fiberboard intermediate bulk container shall be properly overlapped and firmly fixed with adhesive strips or adhesives, or fastened with metal U-shaped nails or other methods at least equivalent. Waterproof glue shall be used for parts that are watertight using adhesive strips or adhesive strips. Metal U-shaped nails shall completely penetrate all the fastened parts, and their form and protection method shall ensure that the lining of the container will not be worn or punctured by them. 4.5 The liner shall be made of suitable materials. The strength of the materials used and the manufacture of the liner shall be compatible with the capacity and purpose of the intermediate bulk container. The joints and closures shall be leakproof and able to withstand the pressure and impact that may occur under normal loading, unloading and transport conditions. 4.6 Any complete chassis or removable chassis that is part of the intermediate bulk container shall be suitable for mechanical loading and unloading operations when the intermediate bulk container is filled to its maximum gross weight.
4.7 The chassis and the surface in contact with the base of the intermediate bulk container shall be designed to avoid any protruding parts on the chassis to prevent damage during loading and unloading.
4.8 The body of the container shall be fastened to the chassis to ensure its stability during loading, unloading and transport. When a removable pallet is used, there shall be no protrusions on the top surface of the pallet that may damage the intermediate bulk container. 4.9 The support and other reinforcement devices used to increase the stacking performance should be located outside the liner. 4.10 For IBCs intended for stacking, the support surface should be able to distribute the load safely. 5 Sampling
5.1 Fiberboard IBCs produced with the same raw materials, the same process and the same structure are considered as one inspection lot. 5.2 If any of the raw materials, process and structure are changed, re-inspection is required. If there are only slight differences between the IBC and its design type, such as a slight reduction in external dimensions, selective testing may be allowed for this IBC. 5.3 The number of samples is shown in Table 1. It is allowed to reduce the number of samples in the order of the test items in Table 2 without affecting the test results, and multiple tests can be carried out on one sample at the same time.

Intermediate bulk container type 11G
Fiberboard intermediate bulk containers should be treated for at least 24h under atmospheric conditions with controlled temperature and relative humidity. There are three options, from which one can be selected. It is recommended to choose the atmospheric conditions of 23℃±2℃ and 50%±2%. The other two options are 20℃±2℃ and 65%±2% or 27℃±2℃ and 65%±2%. Note: The average value shall not exceed these limits. Short-term fluctuations and measurement limitations will cause changes in each measurement, and the relative accuracy may vary by ±5%, but it will not have serious consequences for the reproducibility of the test results. 6.3 Test content
Bottom lifting test
Scope of application: Applicable to various intermediate bulk containers. 6.3.1.1
Sample preparation: The intermediate bulk container should be filled to 1.25 times its maximum allowable total amount, and the load should be evenly distributed. 6.3.1.3
Test method: The intermediate bulk container shall be raised and lowered twice by a forklift, with the forks positioned in the center and the distance between them equal to three quarters of the length of the entry face (except for those with fixed entry points). The entry depth shall be three quarters of the depth in the entry direction. This test shall be repeated for each possible entry direction
6.3.1.4 Acceptance criteria: There shall be no leakage of the contents and the intermediate bulk container, including its chassis, shall not have any permanent deformation that would endanger transportation safety.
6.3.2 Stacking test
Scope of application: Applicable to various intermediate bulk containers for stacking storage. 6.3.2.2
24 h.
Sample preparation: The intermediate bulk container shall be loaded to its maximum permissible gross weight. Test method: The intermediate bulk container shall be placed with its bottom facing downward on a hard and flat surface and then a uniformly distributed test load shall be applied to it. 6.3.2.4
Calculation of the test load applied: The test load applied to the intermediate bulk container shall be at least 1.8 times the sum of the maximum allowable total weight of the number of identical intermediate bulk containers stacked on it during transportation. 6.3.2.5 Acceptance criteria: There is no loss of the contents and the intermediate bulk container, including its chassis, does not show any permanent deformation that would endanger transportation safety.
6.3.3 Drop test
Scope of application: Applicable to all kinds of intermediate bulk containers. 6.3.3.1
6.3.3.2 Sample preparation: The intermediate bulk container shall be filled to not less than 95% of its capacity according to its design type. 6.3.3.3 Test method: The intermediate bulk container shall be dropped onto a hard, inelastic, smooth, flat and horizontal surface. The dropping method should make the most vulnerable part of the bottom of the intermediate bulk container the impact point. For intermediate bulk containers with a capacity equal to or less than 0.45m3, the flat drop test should also be carried out on the sides, tops and corners. The same intermediate bulk container or different intermediate bulk containers can be used for each drop.

Packaging class II
Packaging class I
6.3.3.5 Qualification criteria: No loss of contents. A small amount of material seeps out from the seal after impact, which should be considered qualified as long as no further leakage occurs.
Qualification criteria
If all the above tests are qualified, the inspection batch is judged to be qualified. If one item is unqualified, the inspection batch is judged to be unqualified. Disposal of non-conformity
If only one item is non-conformity in the inspection result, double sampling shall be carried out for re-inspection. If one or more items are still non-conformity, the inspection batch shall be deemed non-conformity.
