This standard specifies the types, specifications, technical requirements, test methods, marking and packaging requirements of square drill pipes. 5 Technical requirements
5.1 Manufacturing process

5.1. Kelly bars shall be made of alloy steel hot-rolled thick-walled tubes or forged and machined. 5.1.2 Kelly bars shall be subjected to full cross-section normalizing and quenching and tempering heat treatment before T-threading the tube body. 5.1.3 Kelly bar threads and internal and external thread shoulder surfaces shall be plated or phosphated, preferably copper plating, which must be carried out after the close distance inspection is qualified.
5.2 Surface quality
5.2.1. The surface of the pipe body shall not have defects such as cracks, folds, pits and scars, and the inner surface shall not have shoulders and spiral grooves: if there are defects, they shall be repaired and eliminated, and the grinding area and the surface of the square drill pipe shall be in a circular arc transition. The remaining thickness after repair shall not be less than 92% of the specified thickness: the surface of the square drill pipe is not allowed to be repaired and welded.
5,2,2 The roughness of the internal and external thread shoulders and the thread working surface shall comply with the provisions of Table 5. No defects such as burrs, cracks, scars, ripples, cracks, etc. that damage the sealing of the connection are allowed. Table 5 Surface roughness

6 Test methods and inspection rules
6.1 Inspection rules

During manufacturing, samples are taken from the two ends of the heat-treated rough rod for tensile, impact and hardness tests. The chemical composition is analyzed according to the steelmaking furnace number.
6.2 Chemical composition analysis
The chemical composition of the steel used for square drill rods shall be prepared according to the provisions of (3/T222 and analyzed according to the provisions of GB/T223.2 and GB/T223.3.
6.3 Mechanical properties test
6.3.1 Tensile and impact test samples are taken from the lower end joint and cut longitudinally: the center of the sample shall be ?5mm away from the surface of the equal body or at the center line of the wall. The smaller one is selected.

(.3.2 The tensile test shall be conducted on cylindrical specimens, the specimen size shall comply with the provisions of Appendix B (Appendix to the standard). The test method shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T228. The service strength is the tensile strength of the specimen when the residual elongation is 0.2% within the gauge length. 6.3.3 The impact test shall be conducted on Charpy V-notch specimens, the specimen size is 10mm×10mm×55mm, the test temperature is 20℃+5t, and the test method shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of (B/1229): (.3.4 The hardness test shall be conducted on the outer surface of the upper end. All kelly driving parts should use the sleeve gauge in accordance with Figure 3 and Table 7 to measure the dimensional accuracy. @

6.6 Straightness measurement method
Measure the maximum deviation between the straight line drawn at both ends of any edge of the square drill pipe body and the square drill surface. 6.7 Wall thickness inspection
The clearance inspection is carried out by an ultrasonic thickness gauge at any section within the length range. 6.8 Thread inspection
The thread pitch, taper, tightness and inspection methods should be carried out in accordance with the provisions of SY/T5290. 6.9 Non-destructive inspection

6.9.1 The threaded part of the square drill joint should be inspected by magnetic particle inspection, and the inspection method should be carried out in accordance with the provisions of SY/T5448. 6.9.2 The joints of the square drill rod shall be inspected by ultrasonic testing, and the inspection method shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of SY/T5144. 6.9.3 The whole length of the driving part of the square drill rod shall be inspected by ultrasonic testing. The requirements for ultrasonic testing are shown in Appendix C (Appendix of the standard). 7 Marking and packaging
7.1 A flat groove with a depth of 3mm and a length of 60mm is machined longitudinally on the outer surface of the upper joint, and the manufacturer's mark, production number (including the year and month of production), specifications and joint type are printed in steel letters. 7.2 A circular groove with a depth of 3mm and Φ30mm is machined on the outer surface of the lower joint, and the joint type is printed in steel letters. 7.3 Each square drill rod shall be accompanied by two copies of a quality assurance certificate when leaving the factory, and its contents include: contract number, production number, steelmaking furnace number, batch number, specifications, length, weight, chemical composition and mechanical properties, etc. 7.4 The threaded part and shoulder surface of the square drill rod must be coated with neutral protective oil, and soft washers and steel protectors must be worn. 7.5 The outer surface of the Kelly pipe should be painted with green or blue anti-rust paint. 7.6 Kelly should be packaged when transported to prevent collision and bending. 8
