Verification regulation for steel rulers
This regulation applies to the verification of newly manufactured and in-use steel rulers. Overview
Steel rulers include ordinary steel rulers and cotton fiber steel rulers. They are measuring tools for measuring length and are made of stainless steel sheets. The ruler has lines engraved on both sides of the engraved surface. The nominal length of ordinary steel rulers is 150, 300, 500 (600), 1000, 1500, and 2000mm; the nominal length of cotton fiber steel ruler is 50mm. 3 Technical requirements and inspection methods
3.1 Appearance
3.1.1 Requirements
3.1.1.1 The edge, side and back of the ruler should be smooth, and there should be no burrs, sharp edges and marks Phenomenon. The surface roughness of the above-mentioned parts of the cotton fiber steel ruler is R1.6m. 3.11.2 The scale surface and the blade plane of the ruler should not have magnetic damage, rust, obvious spots and scratches that affect the use. 3.2 Flatness of ruler surface
3.2.1 Requirements

3.3.1 Requirements

3.4 ​​Straightness of the end and side of the ruler
3.4.1 Requirements
The straightness of the end and side of the ruler should not exceed the requirements of Table 3. 3.4.2 Verification method

3.5 Verticality of the end and side of the ruler
3.5.1 Requirements

The verticality of the end based on the side shall not exceed the requirements of Table 3. 3.5.2 Verification method
Place the two sides of the ruler to be inspected on the corresponding specification of the second-level flat ruler in the direction where the scaled surface is perpendicular to the working surface of the flat ruler, and make the edge contact with the vertical edge of the first-level straight ruler placed on the flat ruler. Use the first-level feeler gauge to verify the upper or lower gap of the end of the ruler to be inspected. It should not exceed the requirements of Table 3. 3.6 Side thickness

The side thickness of the cotton fiber steel ruler should be 0.2~0.3mm3.6.2 Verification method
Put the ruler flat on the first-level flat ruler (or first-level flat plate) (with the scaled surface facing downward), and use 0.2mm and 0.3mm first-level feeler gauges to verify by comparison method.
3.7 The radius of the arc at the intersection of the end and the side
3.7.1 Requirements
The radius of the newly manufactured cotton fiber steel ruler should not exceed 0.1mm; the radius of the ruler in use should not exceed 0.2mm. 3.7.2 Verification method

3.9.3 Verification method

For rulers with specifications below 1000mm, the full-length indication error is verified by placing the third-class standard metal line ruler① and the ruler to be verified on the main table 10 and the adjustable table 11 of the steel ruler verification table (the verification table is shown in Figure 2). Adjust the ruler to be checked so that its line axis is parallel to the edge of the standard ruler, rotate the equal screw 8 to align the head or end line of the standard ruler with the end edge of the ruler to be checked, and use the magnifying glass attached to the standard ruler to read the error of the ruler to be checked on the standard ruler. Verification table
The verification of any line to the end edge or end line of the ruler is to compare the end edge or end line of the ruler to any line of the ruler with the corresponding length of the standard ruler. For steel rulers used for value transfer, the indication error between any lines is roughly evenly distributed in no less than 3 sections within its entire length and compared with the corresponding length of the standard ruler. If the ruler is over 1000mm, it can be divided into two sections and compared with the standard ruler. The error is the algebraic sum of the errors of the two sections. The indication error of the first half millimeter and millimeter divisions is verified by a reading microscope with a graduation value of 0.01mm.
The indication error of the lines on the upper and lower sides of the steel ruler scale surface should be verified, and the error should not exceed the provisions of 3.9.1 and 3.9.2.
The center of each line should be used as the standard for verification reading. The line spacing of the third-class standard gold-spreading line ruler should be used according to the actual size.
The indication error is also allowed to be verified by other methods that meet the accuracy requirements. Processing of verification results and verification cycle
4.1 A verification certificate shall be issued to the steel ruler that meets the requirements of this regulation or a qualified mark shall be affixed to the ruler, and the validity date shall be indicated. Rulers that do not meet the requirements of this regulation shall be scrapped. 4.2 The verification cycle of steel rulers in use can be determined according to specific circumstances, generally 1 year. 6
