Add a certain amount of crude oil demulsifier to the crude oil emulsion, mix it thoroughly, and let it settle and dehydrate at a constant temperature. Record the amount of water removed at different times, observe the color of the removed wastewater and the oil-water interface, and determine the water content of the purified oil and the oil content of the wastewater (the mass concentration of oil in the wastewater). This is used to test the performance of the crude oil demulsifier. 5 Reagents and materials

7 Samples
7.1 Crude oil demulsifier sample
Sampling shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB2828, GB/T10111 and GB/T6680 and sealed for storage. 7.2 Crude oil emulsion sample
7.2.1 Sampling shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant provisions of GB/T4756. 7.2.2 If the crude oil emulsion sample cannot be obtained, the worker shall prepare the crude oil emulsion. The crude oil emulsion is prepared from the purified oil at the place where the crude oil demulsifier is used and the sewage without crude oil demulsifier. When preparing, first weigh 500g of the above-mentioned purified oil into the cup of the automatic mixer with a platform scale; weigh another 500g of the above-mentioned sewage into a beaker; then place the above two cups in a constant temperature water bath 5 to 10°C lower than the dehydration temperature to preheat; then start the automatic mixer, slowly and evenly add the sewage in the beaker into the cup of the automatic mixer, stir thoroughly, and form an artificially prepared crude oil emulsion.
7.2.3 The shelf life of crude oil emulsion samples should not exceed 3 days. 7.3 Dehydrated oily sewage samples
Dehydrated oily sewage should be sampled directly in the dehydration test bottle with a syringe. When sampling, first install a hard plastic 2

Inhale a small amount of air from the syringe of the plastic pipette, insert it into the oily wastewater phase of the dehydrated test bottle (the end of the tube is about 10mm from the bottom of the bottle), and slowly exhaust the air; after the liquid in the bottle is stable, slowly absorb a certain amount of the oily wastewater (prevent inhalation of crude oil); then take out the syringe, unplug the plastic pipette, and inject the water sample into the measuring cylinder; wait for the syringe to cool to room temperature, absorb a small amount of unleaded gasoline or petroleum ether for flushing, and add the flushing liquid into the measuring cylinder.
7.4 Purified oil sample
SY/T5281-2000
The purified oil after dehydration should be sampled in the middle of the oil phase in the dehydrated test bottle. 8 Operation steps
8.1 Preparation of crude oil demulsifier solution
Use a balance to accurately weigh a certain amount of crude oil demulsifier sample in a beaker, transfer it quantitatively to a volumetric flask, dilute it to the scale with solvent, shake it well, and make the mass of crude oil demulsifier contained in each 100mL solution be 1g or 10g. Accurate to 0.01g. Water-soluble crude oil demulsifier uses water or alcohol as solvent, and oil-soluble crude oil demulsifier uses xylene as solvent. 8.2 Treatment of crude oil emulsion samples
8.2.1 Place the crude oil emulsion sample in a constant temperature water bath 510℃ lower than the predetermined dehydration temperature, preheat it to the water bath temperature, and then keep the constant temperature at 0.5h. If there is free water in the crude oil emulsion, separate the free water first and stir it evenly before use. 8.2.2 If the water content of the crude oil emulsion exceeds 75%, the crude oil emulsion should be divided into two parts, one for direct use and the other for use after treatment according to the provisions of 8.2.1.
8.3 Test process
8.3.1 Determine the water content of the treated crude oil emulsion sample according to the method specified in GB/T8929. 8.3.2 Pour the prepared crude oil emulsion sample into a dehydration test bottle or colorimetric tube to the 100mL mark. 8.3.3 Heat the constant temperature water bath to the operating temperature of the industrial dehydration device or the temperature agreed upon by the user and the inspection department. 8.3.4 Place the dehydration test bottle containing the crude oil emulsion sample in a constant temperature water bath for preheating, so that the sample temperature in the dehydration test bottle rises to the predetermined dehydration temperature. This temperature is measured by a thermometer in a blank control test bottle containing a sample. The liquid level of the constant temperature water bath should be higher than the liquid level of the crude oil emulsion in the dehydration test bottle.
8.3.5 Use a liquid dispenser to add a certain amount of crude oil demulsifier solution to the dehydration test bottle. Parallel samples should be set up for each crude oil demulsifier sample test.
8.3.6 The vibration of the dehydration test bottle should adopt mechanical vibration method or artificial vibration method. The vibration intensity should be determined according to the physical properties of the crude oil emulsion. During the test, the principle of testing the same crude oil emulsion sample under the same vibration intensity should be followed. a) Mechanical vibration method: After tightening the bottle cap, quickly place the dehydration test bottle on an electric vibration machine, vibrate for 0.5 to 5 minutes, mix thoroughly, remove the dehydration test bottle, loosen the bottle cap, and place the dehydration test bottle in the constant temperature water bath again to settle. b) Manual oscillation method: After tightening the bottle cap, turn the dehydrated test bottle upside down 2 to 5 times, slowly loosen the bottle cap to release the air, and then tighten the bottle cap again; you can directly oscillate manually, or place the test bottle in an artificial oscillation box and oscillate horizontally 50 to 200 times, and the amplitude should be greater than 20 cm; after fully mixing, loosen the bottle cap and place the dehydrated test bottle in a constant temperature water bath again to settle. 8.3.7 If a colorimetric tube is used instead of a dehydrated test bottle, the test process shall refer to 8.3.4 to 8.3.6. 8.3.8 Visually observe and record the amount of sewage removed at different times. 8.3.9 When the sedimentation is terminated, observe and record the cleanliness of the water phase and the interface conditions in accordance with the provisions of 9.2.1 and 9.2.3 of SY/T5797-93.
8.3.10 The oil content of the dewatered wastewater shall be determined in accordance with SY/T5329; the water content of the dewatered purified oil shall be determined in accordance with GB/T8929. 8.4 Test results
The arithmetic mean of the test results of the parallel samples shall be taken as the test result. 9 Precision
The reliability of the test results (95% confidence level) shall be determined by the following provisions. 9.1 Repeatability
The same operator, using the same sample, under the same conditions, repeats the measurement twice, and the difference between the two dehydration results shall not exceed 2mL. 9.2 Reproducibility
Different operators, using the same sample, under the same conditions, and measured in different laboratories, the difference between the two dehydration results shall not exceed 3mL. -4-
