Determination of tensile strength and elongation at break
HG/T 2580 - 94
This standard is equivalent to the international standard ISO1421-1977 "Measurement method for tensile strength and elongation at break of rubber or plastic coated fabrics". 1 Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the method for determining the tensile strength and elongation at break of rubber or plastic coated fabrics. This standard is applicable to the determination of tensile strength and elongation at break of strip specimens or wet specimens of rubber or plastic coated fabrics. This standard is not applicable to coated fabrics with mesh cloth and knitted cloth as the base fabric. 2 Reference standards
GB/T7538 Determination of the overall characteristics of rubber-coated fabrics GB/T7539 Standard environment for the storage and testing of rubber-coated fabrics HG/T2369 Technical conditions for rubber and plastic tensile testing machines 3 Instruments
This standard allows the use of the following types of tensile testing machines: constant rate loading tensile testing machine (CRL);
constant rate pulling tensile testing machine (CRT);
constant rate elongation specimen tensile testing machine (CRE). 3.1 General requirements
The tensile testing machine used should have a device that indicates or records the maximum load and corresponding elongation when the specimen is torn off. Under the conditions of use, at any point within the range used by the testing machine, the error of the maximum clamping distance indicated or recorded does not exceed 1m: The tensile machine should comply with the provisions of HG/T2369, and its force measurement accuracy should reach Class B. The midpoint of the two holders should be on the tensile line, and the clamping line should be perpendicular to the tensile line. The clamping surfaces of the two clamps should be in the same plane and slightly wider than the prepared sample. The clamp should firmly clamp the sample to prevent it from sliding, but should not break or damage the sample. If the surface clamp cannot clamp the sample even with the padding material, a clamp with grooves or teeth can also be used.
3.2 Speed loading tensile testing machine
The sample is subjected to the predetermined equal load tension so that its average fracture time meets the specified limit. After 10 minutes from the start of the test, the difference between the loading rate and the average loading rate during the entire test period should not be greater than 25%. The testing machine should reach the required load within 60±10. The required load should be the specified tearing load. If the minimum tearing load is not specified, the average tearing load can also be obtained from the trial test.
3.3 Constant speed traction tensile testing machine
Use the holder of constant speed traction to continuously increase the tension on the sample, and make the average breaking time meet the specified limit. After 5s from the start of the test, the average speed of the pulling clamp moving within the 2s interval should not differ by more than 5%. The moving speed of the tensile clamp should be approved by the Ministry of Chemical Industry of the People's Republic of China on February 9, 1994 and implemented on January 1, 1995
100±10mm/min.
3.4 Constant speed elongation specimen tensile testing machine
HG/T2580-94
The specimen is elongated at a specified constant speed, and its breaking time is within the specified limit. In this type of testing machine, the separation speed of the clamp has nothing to do with the elongation of the material. During the test, the speed of the tensile gripper should be such that the sample is broken within 60 ± 10 seconds. 4 Samples
4.1 The sample is cut from a minimum distance of 0.1m from the warp edge and not less than 1m from the end of the coated fabric. The number of samples should meet the requirement of cutting more than 5 samples in the warp and weft directions. The samples should not have defects such as fabric breakage, perforation, adhesive layer damage, and folding. 4.2 The samples obtained in accordance with the provisions of Article 4.1 are 500 to 600m long in each batch. When cutting the warp sample, the length direction of the sample is parallel to the warp direction of the polyester-coated fabric; when cutting the weft sample, the length direction of the sample is parallel to the weft direction of the coated fabric. 4.3 The strip sample cut from the sample has a width of 50mm and a length of 350 to 400mm. Whenever possible, the excess warp and weft lines should be removed to ensure that the yarn is parallel to the sample. If distortion such as bending or twisting occurs along the yarn direction, it should be noted in the test report.
4.4 When the tensile strength of the sample is large, that is, more than 40kN/m or the amount of the sample is small, the sample with a width of 25, 20, or 10mm can be used, and it should be noted in the test report that the test results cannot be compared with the test results with a width of 50mm. 5. Conditioning
5.1 The time interval between the manufacture of the sample and the test shall not be less than 16 hours, but not more than 3 months. In other cases, the test shall be completed within one month from the date of receipt of the order by the orderer. When conducting comparative evaluation, the test shall be carried out at the same time interval. 5.2 When the sample is conditioned, it shall be placed under the standard environment specified in GB/T7539. 5.3 If the wet test is used for determination, the sample shall be completely immersed in a distilled water solution of ethanol with a concentration not exceeding 0.1% (volume ratio 1)) and immersed at 20±2℃ for at least 1 hour. The sample shall be cut before immersion, and after the sample is taken out, it shall be thoroughly washed with water, then clamped with absorbent paper and dried, and the test shall be carried out within 1 minute.
6 Test steps
6.1 Start the tensile testing machine and adjust the zero point of the recording device or load plate. 6.2 Adjust the distance between the upper and lower clamps of the tensile testing machine to 200±1mm, clamp the sample in the center of the clamp so that its longitudinal center line passes through the center line of the clamping surface, and determine the preload 2 according to the thickness of the sample to pre-stretch the sample. a. Samples with a thickness of 0.25mm or less: 2N (200gf): b. Samples with a thickness of 0.25~0.50mm (including 0.50mm): 5N (500gl) c. Samples with a thickness of more than 0.5mm: 10N (1000gf). 6.3 The thickness of the sample can be measured according to the relevant provisions of GB/T7538. 64 Clamp the sample, start the tensile clamp, and stretch the sample at the specified speed until the sample breaks. Record the tensile strength and elongation at break of the sample. Repeat the above steps for each sample. When the sample slips, the test result is discarded and additional samples are added. When the sample breaks at the clamp, additional samples should also be added. The additional samples should be cut at the closest position as much as possible, and the above test steps are repeated until 5 test results are obtained. If the test results do not reach 5 after adding 10 samples, the test can be stopped. The average of all the test results of the samples shall be taken and indicated in the test report.
Instructions for use: 1) [S01421 stipulates that non-ionized wetting agent water solution shall be used with a concentration not exceeding 0.1% (mo1/mo1). 2) ISO1421 stipulates that the preload shall be determined by the unit area. 3) ISO1421 stipulates that the test results of sliding or breaking at the clamp shall be ignored. 2
