Hexagonal drum test Subject the test sample to a series of random drops on the inner surface of a rotating hexagonal drum. The test sample can be dropped on different faces, edges or angles by means of the guide plates and baffles provided, resulting in different impact hazards to the test sample. The order and state of the drops are unpredictable.
4 Test equipment
4.1 The hexagonal roller test machine is a regular hexagonal cylinder that rotates at a constant speed along the horizontal axis. Obstacles such as guide plates and baffles are fixed on the inner surface, and cones can be set as needed.
4.2 The inner surface of the hexagonal roller test machine and its obstacles can be made of hardwood and metal to ensure their hardness. There shall be no obvious damage or deformation during the test. The inner surface is smooth and waxing is allowed. Its smoothness meets the following conditions: A smooth wooden block with a bottom area of 400mm×400mm and a mass of 1kg that has been finely planed is placed with its bottom surface on the inner surface of the roller. When the angle between this inner surface and the horizontal plane is 15°±2°. The wooden block can slide down by itself.
4.3 Each time the test sample moves from one side of the roller to the other side, it is considered a fall. The hexagonal roller test machine can be equipped with a fall counter. 4.4 According to the diagonal size, the hexagonal roller test machine can be divided into 2130 type and 4260 type. 4.4.12130 hexagonal roller testing machine has a rotation speed of 2 rpm and is suitable for transport packages with a maximum side dimension of less than 500 mm and a mass less than 100 kg. According to the provisions of GB3538, number various parts of the test sample. 5.3 Pretreatment of the test sample
According to the provisions of GB/T4857.2, select a condition to pretreatment the test sample with temperature and humidity. 5.4 Temperature and humidity conditions during the test
The test should be carried out under the same temperature and humidity conditions as those during the pretreatment. If the same conditions cannot be achieved, the test should be carried out under temperature and humidity conditions as close to them as possible.
5.5 Test steps
5.5.1 Keep the "surface" of the hexagonal roller testing machine horizontal, place the test sample with its 1 side facing up, and place its 2nd and 5th sides along the guide plate on the "surface" of the testing machine, and then start it.
5.5.2 Stop the machine when the test reaches one of the following situations: a. Reach the predetermined number of rotations and drops.
The predetermined number of rotations and drops can be determined based on the repeated impacts and collisions that the transport packaging may encounter during circulation. If it cannot be determined according to the above situation, refer to Appendix A (reference) to determine the number of rotations and drops. . When the test sample shows a predetermined deformation and damage state. The predetermined deformation and damage state is specified by the product standard, and refer to Appendix A (reference). 5.5.3 After the test, check the damage of the packaging and contents according to relevant standards and regulations, and analyze the test results. 6 Test report
The test report should include the following Contents:
Name, specification, model, quantity, etc. of the contents; if simulated contents are used, detailed description shall be given; a.

Termination conditions of hexagonal tumbling test
(reference)
Termination conditions of hexagonal tumbling test can be divided into the following two types according to different test purposes: A1 When the test cannot determine the number of tumblings based on the repeated impacts and collisions that the transport package may encounter during circulation, the number of tumblings shall generally not be less than 12 times. For transport packages with a mass not exceeding 35 kg, calculate according to formula (A1). If the calculated N is less than 12, then 12 should be taken:
N = 125 - 2. 2 M
Where: N is the number of tumblings;
is the maximum side dimension of the transport package, mm; l is the minimum side dimension of the transport package, mm; M is the mass of the transport package, kg.
A2 Depending on the packaging container and the contents, the damage to the transport package can be determined according to the following conditions: a.
The structure of the packaging container is scattered;
The seal or seam of the packaging container is cracked; the packaging container loses some protection ability for the contents; part of the contents leak out of the packaging container; other various damages.
