The types and sizes of taps in this standard refer to the international standard ISO529-1975 "Short Machine Taps and Hand Taps", and are appropriately adjusted according to domestic demand. Subject content and scope of application
This standard specifies the basic requirements for the types, sizes and markings of short shank machine taps (high performance grade and ordinary grade) and hand taps. This standard is applicable to short shank machine and hand taps for machining ordinary threads (GB/T192~193, GB/T196~197). Cited standards

1) d2min in Table 3 and Table 4 is the size of the empty knife groove. It is allowed to have no empty groove. When there is no empty groove, the length of the threaded part should be 1+1/2. 3.4 Taps with a nominal diameter of less than or equal to 8mm can be made into external taps. 3.5 The applicable scope, main deflection angle, and cutting cone length of single and grouped taps are recommended as shown in Table 7. Note: ① For taps with a pitch less than or equal to 2.5mm, the production and supply of single tapers with medium tapers shall be preferred. When required, it can also be manufactured and supplied as a group of unequal diameter wires. ② The number of taps in each group of the grouped taps shall be determined by the manufacturer according to the needs of use. ③ For the grouped unequal diameter taps, 1 or 2 rings shall be cut on the first and second coarse taper shanks respectively, or sequential guide marks shall be used for identification. 3.6 The nominal cutting angles of the taps produced centrally are measured in the radial plane and are recommended as follows: the front angle % is 8°~10%;
b. The back angle α is 4°~6°

3-M27L-H3 GB/T 3464.3---94
Note: Taps with diameters of 3~10mm have both coarse shank and fine shank structures. In cases where the shank structure needs to be clearly specified, the name of the tap should be preceded by "coarse shank" or "fine".
4 Technical conditions
The technical conditions of taps shall be in accordance with the provisions of GB/T969. Additional notes:
