Method for indicating steel product marking codes
GB/T15575—1995
3.1 The marking code for steel products is indicated by the combination of the first letter (uppercase) of the English name corresponding to the category name and Arabic numerals. 3.1-1 The marking code for steel products consists of marking codes representing the category and the characteristics. For example: the marking code for trimmed steel strip EC
E represents the category as edge state, and
C represents the characteristic as trimmed edge.
3.1.2 Arabic numerals may be used as marking codes to indicate product characteristics. For example: low cold hardened steel strip is marked with code H1/4. H represents the category of hardening degree;
1/1 represents the characteristic of low cold hardening.
3.1.3 According to custom and commonality, international general marking codes may be used. For example, the marking code of steel plate with ultra-deep drawing performance is TQ.
3.2 Marking codes not specified in this standard may be specified in the above method.

Use the English letter representing the cross-sectional shape characteristics of the product as the marking code. For example: the code for square hollow steel is QHS.
