It is usually used in combination with a graphic sign to indicate the direction of the object to be described by the graphic sign. 3.14 Supplementary sign A sign attached to (beside) a graphic sign to further explain the content of the graphic sign. It is usually textual and must be used together with the graphic sign (see Figure 2). 7:30-10:00 Figure 2 Supplementary sign 4 Symbol (sign) composition terms 4.1 Symbol elements symbolelements Components of graphic symbols. 4.2 Qualifying symbol A component of a graphic symbol that is attached to a general symbol or other graphic symbols to provide some kind of determination or additional information. It cannot be used alone. A general symbol can also be used as a qualifying symbol. 4.3 Symbol details symboldetails The smallest unit that can be visually distinguished. Significant synbol details4.41 Details in the symbol element that play a key role in the understanding of the graphic symbol or the completeness of the graphic symbol image. 4.5 Shape code Use geometric shapes to symbolically express specific meanings, and often use different shapes to represent prohibitions, warnings, instructions, restrictions, prompts and other information. 4.6 Colour code Use colours to symbolically express specific meanings, and often use different shades to represent prohibitions, warnings, instructions, prompts and other information. 4.7 Enclosure GB/T 15565 Frame line with a certain width, colour and meaning that constitutes the shape of the sign (see Figure 1). 4.8 Background colour The colour with a certain meaning that sets off the graphic symbol or text in the sign (see Figure 1): 4.9 background cdge A thin line with a certain width around the logo frame (outer edge) in a contrasting color to the frame (outer edge) (see Figure 1)4. 10 negating strokeA straight line with a certain width used to negate the meaning of the original graphic symbol (see Figure 1)5 Design terms 5. 1 Basic gridbasic grid A grid coordinate used for designing graphic symbols for technical product documents. The grid spacing is a certain modulus M, and auxiliary grids can be made between the grids to divide the grids into 10 equal parts (see Figure 3) If the basic grid is replaced by a dot matrix graphic, it is called a basic dot matrix, and the Y axis uses auxiliary grid lines to remove the number! 5.1.1 Reference point Reference point Figure 3 Basic grid, reference point, orientation line 3 Axis (orientation line: The origin of the coordinate system used to draw all symbols in the basic grid. It can be used for positioning and transformation (such as mirroring, rotation, translation, etc.) (see Figure 3). 5.1.2 Orientation line The X-axis line of the coordinate system indicating the direction of the graphic symbol in the basic grid (see Figure 3). 5.1.3 Relerence drawing A design drawing of a graphic symbol for a technical product part drawn on a basic grid with a module M = 10 mm and a line width of 1 mm according to the prescribed representation rules. It is used as a basis or for reproduction. 5.2 Basic graphics basic pattern Auxiliary graphics for the original graphic symbol for designing equipment. It is composed of a square with a side length of 75mm and eight geometric shapes superimposed on it composed of 12.5mm squares (see Figure 4). 5.2. 1 Corner markings GB/T15565—1995 Figure 4 Wood pattern A pattern marked at the four corners of the outermost edge of the basic pattern for the convenience of graphic symbol reproduction and application (see Figure 5), marked with Center line Nominal scale Drawing symbol original drawing, corner mark, nominal size, visual center line 5.2.2 Nominal dimension The nominal dimension is a reference size for the convenience of photographic reproduction of graphic symbols. It is represented by a on the symbol original drawing, which is 50mm (see Figure 5) 5. 2. 3 Visual center line lincs Four short lines on the symbol original that indicate the visual center of the graphic symbol. When arranging the graphic symbols, it can help determine the position and balance the graphic symbols (see Figure 5). 5.2.4 Symbol original sytmbol original CB/T 15565—1995 Draw the design drawing of the equipment graphic symbol on the basic figure according to the specified representation rules, and indicate the corner mark, nominal size, and the center line of the gauge. It is used as a reference or for copying (see Figure 5). 5.3 Design grid design Brid A graphic composed of 5mm squares used to design graphic symbols for signs. The graphic is composed of four geometric shapes (square, oblique square, circle, equilateral triangle) nested together (see Figure 6). Figure 6 Design grid 5.4 Legibility The degree to which the details of the symbol can be distinguished from each other. 6 Test terms 6.1 Object relerent The subject (such as things, concepts, etc.) represented by the graphic symbol. 6.2 Related referents Objects related to the object of the graphic symbol. It includes the negation, opposite and addition of the object. 6.3 Complementary referentsGB/T 15565—1995 Objects with similar functions in the same information system. 6.4 Negation of a referent The image is changed by adding a graphic element to negate a specific function. Negation usually means prohibition. 6.5 Scheme varnt The graphic symbol proposed for a given object. 6.6 Function The purpose or role of the graphic symbol, Excluded functions The function of the object (or additional object) that the graphic symbol does not indicate. 6.8 Subject The person who responds when the graphic symbol scheme is tested. 6.9 Appropriateness ranking test The test procedure in which the subjects evaluate a set of graphic symbol schemes for a given object and rank them from best to worst according to the appropriateness of the schemes and the object. 6.10 Comprehension test The test procedure in which the subjects answer their understanding of the meaning of the graphic symbol scheme, thereby obtaining the degree of understanding of the graphic symbol. Recallability test6.11 The test procedure in which the subjects answer the meaning of the graphic symbol scheme some time after the first notification of the meaning of the graphic symbol scheme, thereby obtaining the degree of memory of the graphic symbol. 6.12 Confusion assessment test A test procedure in which the subject selects a graphic symbol corresponding to a certain name from a set of graphic symbols (consisting of existing graphic symbols and graphic symbols to be tested), thereby obtaining a test procedure for the degree of confusion between the graphic symbol to be tested and the existing graphic symbols. 7 Application terms 7.1 Conspicuity The degree to which a sign is more noticeable than its background in the visual field. 7.2 Detection The ability of the human visual system to sense stimuli from the visual field. 7.3 Visual angle The angle between the line connecting the two end points of the long axis of the sign from the observer's eyes (see Figure 7)? 7.4 Viewing angle The angle between the observer's line of sight from the center of the sign and the plane where the sign is located (see Figure 8), GB/T 15565-1995 Observation angle α, observation distance, displacement ¥, displacement angle 8 7.5 Observation distance The length of the projection of the line from the observer's eye to the center of the sign on the horizontal plane (see Figure 8).
