This standard applies to electronic data exchange and information processing for institutions engaged in international trade, regional trade and transportation. GB/T15514-1998
This standard is formulated according to the requirements of the United Nations Port and Related Location Code (UN/LOCODE) standard. It is the first revision of GB/T15514-1995 and is part of the UN/LOCODE international standard. This revision mainly adds 45 ports and modifies the content of individual ports in the original standard. Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C of this standard are all appendices of the standard. This standard is proposed by the China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding. This standard is under the jurisdiction of the China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding. The drafting units of this standard are: China Institute of Standardization and Information Classification and Coding, National Port Office, Quota License Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Statistics Department of the General Administration of Customs, China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, and Civil Aviation Administration of China. This standard specifies the codes for major ports and important international trade locations (hereinafter referred to as ports) in my country. This standard does not include the port codes for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Taiwan and Macao. GB/T15514—1998

This standard adopts the following definitions:
3.1 Ports and other locations Ports, airports, inland freight destinations and other related places where customs formalities can be handled. 4 Coding principles
This standard follows the coding principles of scientificity, uniformity and practicality, and gives priority to the internationally used IATA standard codes and relevant Chinese standards. The rest are represented by the three-letter abbreviation of the Chinese phonetic phonetic name of the port. 5 Code structure
The codes in this standard use equal-length five-digit letter codes. The first two digits are the country code of my country, using the letter code in GB/T2659-94 "Codes for the Names of Countries and Regions in the World", represented by the capital letter "CN". The last three capital letters represent the port name. 6 Code Maintenance
This standard is maintained by an organization authorized by the national standardization administrative department. If it is necessary to add or modify this standard, the request for addition or modification should first be submitted to the code maintenance organization for record.
Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on March 27, 1998 and implemented on October 1, 1998
