Mechanical Industry Standard of the People's Republic of China JB5997-92 Braking System of Wheeled Tractor Trailer Unit Technical Conditions Published on 1992-05-28 Implementation on 1993-01-01 by the Ministry of Machinery and Electronics Industry of the People's Republic of China Mechanical Industry Standard of the People's Republic of China Braking System of Wheeled Tractor Trailer Unit Technical Conditions 1 Subject Content and Scope of Application JB599792 This standard specifies the technical requirements for the pneumatic and hydraulic brake systems of wheeled tractor trailer units (hereinafter referred to as units). This standard applies to pneumatic and hydraulic brake systems. 2 Technical requirements 2.1 When the driving and parking brake systems produce the maximum braking effect, the pedal force shall not exceed 600N, and the hand pull (pressure) force shall not exceed 400N.bzxz.net 2.2 The maximum braking effect of the driving brake shall be achieved within 4/5 of the full pedal stroke. 2.3 For units using pneumatic brakes, when the pressure rises to 630kPa, the air compressor stops working in the non-braking state, and the pressure drop value observed for 3 minutes does not exceed 10kPa; in the case of full braking, the pressure drop value observed for 3 minutes after the air pressure stabilizes does not exceed 30kPa. 2.4 For units using hydraulic brakes, when the pedal force is the maximum, it is maintained for 1 minute, and the pedal shall not move slowly to the bottom. 2.5 For units using pneumatic brakes, a safety valve and a drain valve must be installed on the air storage cylinder. When the inflation pressure reaches the specified value, the inflation will not continue. The capacity of the air cylinder should be able to ensure that the air pressure in the cylinder shall not be less than 400kPa after the unit has been fully braked for 5 consecutive times: 2.6 For units using pneumatic brakes, the air supply of the air compressor should be able to meet the requirement that the air pressure in the cylinder can rise from zero to 400kPa when the engine runs at medium speed for 4 minutes. 2.7 For units using pneumatic brakes with trailers fully loaded with 5t or more, when the trailer is accidentally separated from the tractor, the trailer can brake automatically. 2.8 The wheeled tractor trailer unit is driven at a speed of 20 km/h on a flat, clean, dry cement or asphalt road surface (adhesion coefficient not less than 0.7) both when empty and fully loaded. Under full braking, the braking distance shall not be greater than 5.4m and 6m respectively, or the average braking deceleration shall not be less than 2.9m/s and 2.6m/s; the deviation shall not be greater than 80mm, and the trailer brake mark shall be greater than the tractor brake mark. 2.9 When the unit is driven at a speed of 20 km/h, the coordination time of the braking system (under full braking, the time from the start of the pedal action to the average braking deceleration, when empty load reaches 2.9m/s and when fully loaded reaches 2.6m/s) is shown in the table below. Unit type Total weight <4.5t 4.5t<Total weight <12t Total weight >12t Brake system coordination time S 2.10 The complete release time of the unit brake (the time required from releasing the brake pedal to completely eliminating the movement) shall not be greater than 0.8s. 2.11 When the fully loaded unit is on a 16% slope, divided into two situations, uphill and downhill, it should not slide down after braking and stopping for 30 minutes; it is allowed to use the method of measuring traction instead of the slope test, that is, after fully braking and stopping on a flat road, the traction resistance of the unit should be not less than 16% of the total weight.
