This standard specifies the quality requirements, test methods and evaluation methods for the grading of water-washed natural silica sand for casting. This standard applies to Natural silica sand for foundry that has been washed, scrubbed or flotated. 2 Cited standards

3 Grading requirements
3.1 Basic provisions
3.1.1 Natural silica sand for casting is divided into natural silica sand for steel casting, natural silica sand for iron casting and natural silica sand for non-ferrous alloy casting according to its use. 3.1.2 Natural silica sand for steel casting and natural silica sand for iron casting are divided into superior sand, first-class sand and qualified sand according to their quality. Natural silica sand for non-ferrous metal casting can be used for reference. 3.2 Grading indicators
3.2.1 2. Silicon oxide content, mud content and angular factor 3.2.1.1 The grading indicators of natural silica sand for steel casting shall comply with the provisions of Table 1 . Table 1

3.2. 2 Particle size composition
3.2.2.1 The main particle size components of natural silica sand used in manufacturing: not less than 75% for three sieves, not less than 85% for four sieves, qualified sand
3.2.2.2 The absolute error of the fluctuation value of the main particle size components of the superior sand and first-class sand of the grade shall not be less than 5%. 3.2.2.3 The upper and lower sieve contents of each group of superior and first-class sand shall comply with the provisions of Table 3. 3.3 The moisture content of superior sand and sand packaged in bags shall not exceed 0.3%, and other silica sands shall comply with the provisions of GB/T9442. 4 Test methods
4.1 The sampling methods for various tests on natural silica sand for manufacturing shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 1 of GB/T2684-1981. 4.2 The determination of silicon dioxide (SiO2) content in natural silica sand for casting shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5 of GB/T7143-1986. 4.3 The determination of mud content and water content in natural silica sand for casting shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2 of GB/T2684--1981. 4.4 The particle size composition of natural silica sand to be used for casting shall be analyzed by JB/T9156, and the analysis method of particle size composition shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of 2.3 of G3/T2684--1981.
5 Evaluation method
All grades of natural silica sand for casting must fully meet the corresponding grade indicators. If one item does not meet the specified indicators, it can be re-tested. If the re-test results still do not meet the requirements, the grade of natural silica sand for casting shall be reduced. 598
