This standard specifies the limit deviations of the pitch diameter and top diameter of common threads based on the basic deviations and tolerances of GB/T 197-2003. The basic tooth profile, diameter and pitch series of common threads comply with the provisions of GB/T 192-2003 and GB/T 193-2003 respectively. They are suitable for general-purpose mechanical fastening threaded connections. The threads themselves do not have a sealing function. This standard is modified to adopt ISO965-3:1998 "ISO-General purpose metric screw thread-Tolerances Part 3: Deviations of structural screw threads" (English version). There is no technical difference between the Chinese standard and the ISO standard. The two standards are only different in the standard name. In order to reflect its standard, the ISO standard also provides the equivalent diameter (equivalent to the smooth rod test piece) that can be used to calculate the static tensile strength of external threads, and introduces the term "structural thread" (thread with strength requirements) in the standard name. Considering that there is no corresponding thread-specific term in the Chinese standard, and using it will narrow the scope of application of the standard, the Chinese standard does not adopt the ISO standard name. This standard mainly provides the limit deviations of the middle diameter and top diameter of ordinary threads, and provides the stress equivalent diameter information only to explain the "allowable" (m i y) calculation method. This strength calculation algorithm is neither the "requirement" content of the standard nor the "recommendation" content of the standard. Therefore, the application field of the entire standard should not be limited and narrowed in order to highlight it. In addition, the Chinese standard also corrects a printing error in the ISO standard. Change the "should not exceed the basic tooth profile" in the first paragraph of Chapter 4 of the ISO standard to "should not exceed the maximum solid tooth profile determined by the basic tooth profile and the position of the tolerance zone" (the second paragraph of Chapter 4 of this edition). ISO standards do not consider the existence of the basic deviation of the bottom diameter. GB/T14791--1993 "Thread Terminology" is different from ISO5408:1983 "Cylindrical Thread Terminology". Threads can be divided into cylindrical threads and conical threads; sealed threads and non-sealed threads; mechanical fastening threads and transmission threads; symmetrical tooth profile threads and asymmetrical tooth profile threads. At present, the ISO5408 standard only specifies the terminology of cylindrical threads (part of mechanical fastening threads and part of transmission threads), which is far from meeting the actual production needs. my country has formulated thread terminology standards applicable to various major threads with reference to the practices of Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia and other countries. That is, the technical content of my country's thread terminology standards is relatively comprehensive, and it has included the technical content of the ISO thread terminology standards.
This standard replaces GB/T25161981 "Ordinary Thread Deviation Table". Compared with GB/T2516-1981, this standard has the following technical changes: a) This standard adds the content of external thread minor diameter deviation for strength calculation (see Chapter 4 and Table 1); b) Changes in tolerance zone and size specifications (Table of 1981 edition; Table 1 of this edition). It corresponds to the phase change in size specifications and tolerance zone of the new standards GB/T193-2003 "Ordinary Thread Diameter and Pitch Series" and GB/T197-2003 "Ordinary Thread Tolerance".

This standard specifies the limit deviations of the middle diameter and top diameter of ordinary threads (metric threads for general use) based on the basic deviations and tolerances of GB/T197-2003. The basic tooth profile, diameter and pitch series of ordinary threads conform to the provisions of GB/T192--2003 and GB/T193-2003 respectively.
