National Standard of the People's Republic of China Type, main size and mounted dimensionof headlamps for motor vehicleUDC 628.941 : 629 GB 4659--84 This standard adopts the European Economic Commission (ECE) Regulation No. 5 "Uniform Provisions for Approval of Sealed Lighting Groups (SB) with European Asymmetric Low Beam, High Beam or Both". This standard specifies the types of headlamps, the main dimensions and connection dimensions of circular and rectangular headlamps and their general requirements, and is applicable to automobiles*. 1 Terminology 1.1 Two-lamp headlamp Two headlamps, one at each end, are symmetrically mounted at the front ends of the vehicle, and each headlamp provides high beam and low beam. 1.2 Four-lamp headlamp Four headlamps are symmetrically installed in pairs at each end of the front end of the vehicle. In each pair of headlamps, one provides high beam and the other provides low beam or low and high beam. 1.3 Lighting group A general term for the combination of a light distribution mirror, a reflector and a light source (a bulb or a filament assembly). Type Headlamps are divided into the following categories according to the number of lights installed on the vehicle: 2.1 Two-lamp system, Four-lamp system. Headlamps are divided into the following categories according to the installation method: Interior type, Exterior type. Headlamps are divided into the following categories according to the type of their lighting groups: Semi-enclosed type, Enclosed type. Headlamps are divided into the following categories according to their shapes: Circular, Rectangular, Special shape. Headlamps are classified by beam type: High beam, C—Low beam Vehicle type" regulations. *Automobiles are classified according to GB3730.1~83 "Terms and Definitions of Motor Vehicles and Trailers, issued by the National Bureau of Standards on August 14, 1984, and implemented on June 1, 1985. 3 Main dimensions and connection dimensions GB 4659--84 3.1 Round built-in headlamps 3.1.1 The main dimensions shall comply with the provisions of Figure 1, Figure 2 and Table 1.
