1 Subject Content and Scope of Application

This standard applies to the preparation of technical documents in the field of ship electrical technology. This standard does not apply to the model preparation and naming of ship electrical products. 2 Reference Standards
GB7159 General Rules for the Formulation of Text Symbols in Electrical Technology 3 Composition of Text Symbols
Text symbols for ship electrical equipment are divided into two types: limited text symbols and type text symbols. 3.1 Qualified text symbols
Qualified text symbols can be used in combination with general graphic symbols to derive new graphic symbols. Generally, qualified text symbols cannot exceed three letters.
3.2 Type text symbols
Type text symbols provide letter codes for the types of electrical equipment, devices and components for the project codes in ship electrical technology. Type text symbols shall not exceed two letters and are divided into single-letter symbols and double-letter symbols. Single-letter symbols should be used first. Double-letter symbols are used only when single-letter symbols cannot meet the requirements and it is necessary to further divide the major categories in order to describe the electrical equipment, devices and components in more detail and more specifically.
4 Principles for supplementing text symbols
If the qualified text symbols and type text symbols specified in this standard are insufficient, they can be supplemented according to the composition rules of text symbols in this standard and the following principles.
4.1 Without violating the text symbol compilation principles specified in GB7159 and this standard, the text symbols for ship electrical equipment specified in international standards can be used.
4.2 Under the premise of giving priority to the limited text symbols and category text symbols specified in GB7159 and this standard, the limited text symbols and category text symbols not listed in GB7159 and this standard can be supplemented. 4.3 Text symbols should be abbreviated according to the corresponding English words specified in the relevant national standards or professional standards for electrical terminology. If the same equipment has several names, one of the names should be selected. When the equipment name, function, state or feature is an English word, the first letter of the word is generally used to form the text symbol. If necessary, the first two letters or the first letters of the first two syllables can also be used, or commonly used abbreviations or conventional usages can be used to form the text symbol: When the equipment name, function, state or feature is two or three English words, the first letters of the two or three words are generally used, or commonly used abbreviations or conventional usages are used to form the text symbol. The number of letters for category text symbols shall not exceed two, and the number of letters for limited text symbols shall generally not exceed three. 4.4 Because the Latin letters "1" and "O" are easily confused with the Arabic numerals "1" and "0", they are not allowed to be used as text symbols alone. 4.5 The letters of the text symbols shall be Latin capital letters.
