GB4208 enclosure protection level (IP mark) 3 Protection type
The enclosure protection type specified in this standard includes two types. 3.1 The first protection type
Prevents human body from touching or approaching the live parts or moving parts in the enclosure, and prevents solid foreign matter from entering the enclosure. 3.2 The second type of protection
Prevents water from entering the interior and causing harmful effects. 4 General provisions
4.1 The shell of the product shall comply with the design requirements or the provisions of the relevant product standards. Under normal use conditions, the material and manufacturing process of the shell shall ensure that the requirements of this standard are met. 4.2 Partitions outside the shell and not connected to the shell, as well as barriers such as fences set around the shell specifically for personal safety, are not considered part of the shell. Partitions set inside the shell to prevent solid foreign objects from entering the shell should be considered part of the shell. 4.3 This standard does not specify the protection level under conditions such as mechanical damage, explosive, corrosive gas or moisture (such as caused by condensation), mold, and insect pests.
5 Marking
5.1 The symbol of the protection level consists of the symbol letters IP (International Protection), the first characteristic number, and the second characteristic number. If there is a need for supplementary content, it should also be indicated by supplementary letters, which should be listed after the second characteristic number. 5.2 Meaning of IP mark

This P mark on the shell means:
JB 7102-1993
3--Can prevent hand-held tools or metal wires with a diameter or thickness of not less than 2.5mm from touching the live parts or moving parts in the shell: Can prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter of not less than 2.5mm from entering the shell. 4
Can prevent the harmful effects of splashing water from any direction on the product. b. IP20
This IP mark means: Can prevent fingers from touching the live parts or moving parts in the shell, and can also prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter of not less than -12mm from entering the shell. bzxZ.net
c. IP12 W
This IP mark on the shell means:
1 Can prevent the back of the hand from touching the live parts or moving parts in the shell: Can prevent solid foreign objects with a diameter of not less than 50mm from entering the shell. 2—-Can prevent the harmful effects of 15° dripping water on the product. W——Use under specified climatic conditions. 5.4 Marking method of IP mark
5.4.1 The IP mark should be marked on the product nameplate, on the shell or in the corresponding technical documents. Open-type products (such as relay protection, control panel, etc.) do not need to be marked. 5.4.2 When the various parts of the product have different protection levels, the lowest protection level should be marked first; if other parts need to be marked, they should be marked separately according to the protection level of each part. 5.4.3 When the installation method of the product affects its protection level, the intended installation method should be stated in the installation instructions or other documents.

6.2 If there are special enclosure protection requirements, they should be selected according to the provisions of GB4208, and other grades should be tested according to the corresponding test methods. 7
Test method
7.1 The tests specified in this standard are type tests, which are carried out when new products are finalized or when the enclosure protection performance is affected by structural changes. 7.2 Environmental conditions for waterproof and dustproof tests
Unless otherwise specified in the relevant product standards, the tests should be carried out under the specified standard environmental conditions. During the test, the recommended environmental conditions are as follows: 427
Ambient temperature: 15~~35℃;
Relative humidity: 25%~75%:
Atmospheric pressure: 86106kPa.
JB7102-1993
7.3Unless otherwise specified, the test samples should be clean new products, and all parts should be installed in place as normal. 7.4Under normal circumstances, the test should be carried out when the product is not powered on. If it is necessary to test when the product is powered on, it should be specified in the corresponding product standards or technical documents. 7.5 For the protection level with the first characteristic numeral of 2 and the second characteristic numerals of 3 and 4, if the visual inspection meets the expected protection level requirements, no further testing is required. However, if there is any doubt, the test should still be carried out in accordance with the provisions of this standard. 7.6 A certain protection level of various types of enclosure protection meets all levels lower than the protection level at the same time. Therefore, any level lower than the protection level does not need to be tested.
7.7 Test of the protection level represented by the first characteristic numeral The test method and qualification assessment of the protection level represented by the first characteristic numeral shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB4208. The probe used for the test of the protection level represented by the first characteristic numeral to prevent human contact with live parts or moving parts in the enclosure shall comply with the provisions of GB4208.
7.8 Test of the protection level represented by the second characteristic numeral The test method and qualification assessment of the protection level represented by the second characteristic numeral shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB4208. Additional remarks:
