This standard specifies the general requirements and definitions of overspeed protectors for reciprocating internal combustion engines. If necessary, special requirements may be put forward for engines with special purposes.
This standard applies to internal combustion engines for road construction machinery, earthmoving machines, agricultural and industrial tractors, road vehicles and aviation engines. This standard is based on the International Standard 1S03046/61982 "Internal Combustion Engines - Performance - Part 3 - Overspeed Protection". 1 Definition of terms
11 Overspeed protection: A combination of a speed sensor and a drive component that controls the fuel supply and (or) air and (or) ignition system (to limit the engine speed or shut down) when the engine exceeds the predetermined speed. 1.2 Set point: The speed at which the overspeed protector takes effect. 1.3 Adjustment range: The range of speeds within which the set point can be adjusted. 1,4 When responding, the time interval from the overspeed protection device sensing the overspeed disturbance to the action of the overspeed protector. 2 General requirements
2.1 The engine and its drive device should have a limited speed that is not allowed to be exceeded to avoid the risk of damage. 2.2 The use of the overspeed protector and the special requirements for it (Article 3.1) shall be determined according to the agreement between the user and the manufacturer or according to the regulations of the inspection and testing organization, the regulatory agency, and the user. 2.3 The manufacturer shall ensure that the setting point of the overspeed protector meets the speed limit described in Article 2.1. 2. The selection of the setting point, adjustment range and response time of the overspeed protector (Article 3.4) shall prevent all parts of the engine and its drive unit from being damaged due to overspeed.
2.5 The overspeed protector shall function within the entire engine speed range. 2.6 Engine manufacturer: "The method and period for testing the function of the overspeed protector should be specified. 3 Features of overspeed protection
3.1 The overspeed protector shall not have any effect on the normal operation of the engine control system. However, once the overspeed state is reached, the overspeed protector shall use the relevant control system to eliminate the overspeed state or stop the engine. According to the purpose of the engine and the agreement between the manufacturer and the user, the failure of the control system shall not affect the function of the protector. According to the purpose of the engine and the agreement between the manufacturer and the user, when the overspeed protector is damaged or fails, it shall not cause the engine to stop, and an alarm shall be issued. .
3.2 In the case of overspeed parking, the overspeed protection must be locked in the parking position. When restarting the engine, the locking mechanism is usually required to be automatically reset, and in special occasions, it is allowed to be automatically reset. 3.3 The overspeed protector should issue a signal when it is activated. 3,4 The relationship between the setting point, adjustment range and response time of the overspeed protector is shown in the figure below. The National Bureau of Standards issued it on June 6, 1985.
Implemented on April 1, 1986.
