National Standard of the People's Republic of China The license plates (crackets) and its position on motor vebicles and trailer1 Subject content and scope of application This standard specifies the shape, size, position and strength requirements of license plates (crackets) for motor vehicles and trailers. This standard applies to vehicles of categories M, N and O. 2 Reference standards GA36 License plates of the People's Republic of China GB/T15089 Classification of motor vehicles 3 Terms and terms 3.1 License plate The panel on which the license plate is directly mounted. www.bzxz.net 3.2 License cracket The device installed on the vehicle for mounting the license plate. 4. Shape and size of license plate GB 15741--1995 The license plate can be a rectangular flat plate (it can be a curved surface under the condition of ensuring the installation requirements of the license plate). The outer corridor size of the license plate and the license plate installation hole size of the license plate plate (frame) shall be determined according to GA36. 5. Position of license plate plate (frame) The license plate installed on the license plate plate (frame) shall not affect the vehicle's designed approach angle and departure angle. 5.1. Position of front license plate plate (frame) The front license plate plate (frame) is located on the front bumper of the vehicle. 5.1.1 The license plate installed on the front license plate plate (frame) shall be vertical or approximately vertical to the longitudinal symmetry plane of the vehicle. The midpoint of the front license plate shall not be on the left of the longitudinal symmetry plane of the vehicle; the front license plate and license plate frame shall not exceed the right edge of the front end of the vehicle. 5.1.2 The license plate installed on the front license plate plate (frame) should be basically vertical to the horizontal plane. The front license plate is allowed to tilt backwards by no more than 15°. 5.2 Position of the rear license plate plate (frame) The rear license plate plate (frame) should be located at the rear end of the vehicle. 5.2.1 The license plate installed on the rear license plate plate (frame) should be vertical or nearly vertical to the longitudinal symmetry plane of the vehicle. The midpoint of the rear license plate shall not be on the right side of the longitudinal symmetry plane of the vehicle, and the rear license plate and license plate frame shall not exceed the left edge of the rear end of the vehicle. 5.2.2 The license plate installed on the rear license plate plate (frame) should be basically vertical to the horizontal plane. a. When the height of the upper edge of the rear license plate from the ground is not more than 1.20m, the front of the rear license plate is allowed to tilt upwards by no more than 30° Note: 1) Measured when the vehicle is unloaded. Approved by the State Administration of Technical Supervision on November 16, 1995, and implemented on January 1, 1997 GB15741—1995 b. When the height of the upper edge of the rear license plate from the ground is greater than 1.20, the front of the rear license plate is allowed to be tilted down by no more than 15°. 5.2.3 The height of the lower edge of the license plate installed on the rear license plate plate (frame) from the ground should be no less than 0.30m, and the height of the upper edge from the ground should generally be no more than 1.20m. If the height of the upper edge of the rear license plate from the ground cannot meet the above requirements, the height from the ground may exceed 1.20m, but it must be as close to the limit as possible according to the vehicle structure characteristics, and shall not exceed 2.0t. 6 Visible range The license plate installed on the license plate frame should be visible within the following space; the space consists of the following four planes: two vertical planes passing through the two sides of the license plate and 30° outward; a plane passing through the upper edge of the license plate and 15° upwards from the horizontal plane, and a horizontal plane passing through the lower edge of the license plate (if the upper edge of the license plate is more than 1.20m above the ground, the plane should be 15° downwards from the horizontal plane). The license plate frame shall not block the characters on the license plate. 7 Strength of the license plate frame After the license plate is installed, the license plate frame should ensure that it will not loosen or deform during normal use of the car, and cannot be disassembled without disassembling or damaging the license plate.
