IEC Foreword
1. IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) is an international standardization organization composed of all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). Its purpose is to promote international cooperation on standardization issues in the electrical and electronic fields. To this end, IEC carries out international standardization activities and publishes international standards. The formulation of these standards is entrusted to technical committees. Any IEC National Committee interested in the work can participate in the formulation work. International, governmental and non-governmental organizations associated with IEC can also participate in this work. IEC and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) work closely together on the basis of mutual agreement. 2. IEC formal resolutions or agreements on technical issues formulated by technical committees in which all national committees with a special interest in the issue participate, represent as far as possible the international consensus on the issues involved. 3. These formal resolutions or agreements are published in the form of standards, technical reports or guidelines, recommended for international adoption, and accepted by the National Committees in this sense.
4. In order to achieve international consensus, IEC National Committees are committed to using IEC International Standards to the greatest extent possible in their national and regional standards. IEC Differences between the standard and the corresponding national or regional standard shall be clearly indicated in the latter. 5. IEC has not established a procedure for the application of the approval mark. IEC assumes no responsibility for claims that a device complies with an IEC standard. This standard was prepared by IEC Technical Committee 61 (Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances). This standard is based on the following documents:
61(CO)760
Full material on the adoption of this standard can be found in the above voting report. Voting Report
61(CO)772
This standard is based on the third edition of IEC60335-1, formulated in 1991, and should be used in conjunction with the latest edition of IEC60335-1 and its supplements.
This standard supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses in IEC60335-1, thereby converting it into the IEC standard: Safety requirements for waterbed heaters. IEC60335-1 clauses not covered by this standard apply where reasonable. If "addition", "modification" or "replacement" is marked in this standard, the relevant clauses of IEC60335-1 shall be modified accordingly. Particular requirements for waterbed heaters
This chapter in GB4706.1-1998 is replaced by the following content. GB4706.58--200 2
This standard deals with the safety of electric waterbed heaters and associated control components for household and similar purposes, with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V. Appliances not intended for general household use but which may nevertheless constitute a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended for use in hotels, are within the scope of this standard.
As far as practicable, this standard deals with common hazards arising from appliances that are exposed to all persons in and around the dwelling. This standard does not generally take into account the following situations:
- Use of appliances by unattended young children and disabled persons; - Use of appliances by young children.
Note 1: Pay attention to the following situations| |tt||一~ For devices intended for use in vehicles, ships or aircraft, some additional requirements may be required, ... For devices intended for use in tropical countries, some special requirements may be required! - In many countries, additional requirements are specified by national health departments, departments responsible for labor protection, national water supply departments and similar departments. Note 2: This part does not apply to:
-Medical devices (IEC60601),
-Device used in water.
2 Definition
This chapter in GB4706.1-1998 is applicable except for the following contents. 2.2.9 This item is replaced by the following:
Normal operation
Install the heater and its control components under the water mattress according to the instructions for use and make the appliance work. The appliance is placed on a wooden base frame of appropriate size. The top surface of the base frame is a composite board with a thickness of about 13mm, supported by a pine board with a thickness of about 20mm, 150mm above the ground. The boards are assembled into a rectangular frame and divided into six parts of roughly equal area by one vertical and two horizontal boards. A sheet of polyether foam sponge with a thickness of about 25mm is used to completely cover the wooden base frame. The specifications of the polyether material are: number of holes per meter: 18+;
Mass density: 30kg/m3+1%;
Hardness: According to GB/T10807-1989, the force of 40% indentation is 120N~170N. Note 1: If the instructions state that the heater is not suitable for installation on a soft support, this sheet of polyether material is not used. Note 2: If otherwise specified in the installation instructions, the polyacetal layer shall be covered with other material. The heater and all control devices are placed on the polyether material. A sheet of water mattress base material measuring 10 cm x 20 cm is folded in half to 5 cm x 20 cm and placed approximately in the middle of the longest side of the upper surface of the heater, with the fold parallel to its shortest side. The mattress is placed on the heater, filled with water and completely covered with a polyether material similar to the above, approximately 36 mm thick. 933
